Jack's pov

It was Halloween again and the celebration was over. So for now Jack just sat on his hill, looking over the pumpkin patch. He was thinking long and hard.

How long have I been here?

How long have I been the king?

Was Halloween really starting to bore him?

'no of course not' He shook his head. 'I love Halloween. This is my holiday I just need a little bit of something else.' He thought bring his knees to his chest. 'Only a little distraction.' He closed his eyes for a minute taking a deep breath when he heard something fall hard in the woods nearby.

Reader's pov
When you woke up you were surrounded by woods and completely confused.

'Where am I?' You thought standing up which was a huge mistake. You clutched your head holding it tight and saw a tree nearby. You reached out to it for balance but it was farther then you thought and ended up falling hard on the ground. You heard someone walking up to you. 'Wait I thought I was dead.' You sat upright still holding your head and squinted up at what was now right in front of you.

He was very tall, extremely thin, nothing but bone, and big black holes for eyes which somehow seemed full of concern. He looked like a skeleton, a real one, but it was Halloween after all.

"Are you alright miss?" He asked right away dropping down to make eye contact with you. You turned away quickly not wanting him to see your face. 'If he finds out who I am he'll hate.' His boney hand reached out to your face pulling it to meet his. "You don't need to be afraid." He said smiling at you.

Your eyes grew wide he was not in a costume he was real. He noticed you had been crying and wiped your face. "Today is Halloween eve, a time for celebration. Why are you full of sorrow?" He asked now sitting beside you. You had no idea why you felt you could trust him, but you needed to spill you guts out to someone.

"My name is (f/n) (l/n)." You said beginning to wipe away your own tears.

"A beautiful name." He said smiling. You froze. 'What?'

"You don't know who I am?!" You asked surprise. The man jumped a little.

"No? Should I?" He asked regain his balance. You looked up at him you didn't care if he was a skeleton man. He was the first not to judge you in a long time and you needed that. You jumped forward hugging him and yet again throwing off his balance.

"Thank you." You whispered in his ear and began to cry again.
