04 | becoming a hero

Fortunately for the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Kelissa hadn't left the building. Not knowing where Barry had gone and not wanting to return home to her mother and father, she had remained inside, allowing them to drag her back into doing tests; tests that would make sure she was healthy.

After having needle upon needle injected in her body, Kelissa was finally over it when she had once again been asked to pee in a cup. It didn't surprise the brunette when they couldn't find anything wrong with her. To Kelissa, there was nothing wrong with herself.

She had been in a coma, and now she was awake. Her body couldn't have changed that much in nine months.

By the time Cisco and Caitlin were done performing tests on Kelissa, Barry had returned with two boxes full of folders. He had gathered the three into a side room, staying out of Wells' sight.

"I've been going over unsolved cases from the past nine months," Barry explained, "and there's been a sharp increase in unexplained deaths and missing people. Your meta-humans have been busy." Caitlin and Cisco shared sorrowful looks. "I'm not blaming you. I know you didn't mean for any of this to happen. I know you all lost something. But I need your help to catch Marion and anyone else out there like him. I can't do it without you."

Kelissa nodded over at Barry, "You already know I'm on your side, wherever it takes me." She received an appreciative glance, but both of them know it was Caitlin and Cisco that needed to be convinced.

"If we're gonna do this," Cisco was the first to speak up between the two, "I have something that might help." With a cheeky grin, Cisco led the group down the hall, into a room off a room off another room. It was well-hidden and most obviously Cisco's little hideout. "Something I've been playing with."
He turned the machine around to reveal a full-body superhero suit, mask and all. It was red with noticeable yellow stitching. "It's designed to replace the turnouts firefighters traditionally wear. I thought if S.T.A.R. Labs did something nice for the community, maybe people wouldn't be so angry at Dr. Wells anymore."

In the corner of the room, Kelissa noticed another suit, only half-completed. Contrary to Barry's suit, it looked a lot more breathable, not being a full-body suit, and seemed to match up to Kelissa's sizing. The brunette didn't want to take a swing on guessing whether or not Cisco had been working on a suit for her as well.

"How is it going to help me?" Barry questioned.

"It's made of a reinforced tri-polymer. It's heat and abrasive resistant to withstand your moving at high-velocity speeds. The aerodynamic design should help you maintain control. Plus, it has built-in sensors so we can track your vitals and stay in contact with you from here," Cisco explained.
