Little too Late

Chapter 1 We meet Again

" Yes I do love you but not the way you want me to." He said as the tears continuously flowing in my cheeks.

It's been five years since that awful day but I can still feel the pain. It's as if it only happened yesterday. The scene is still fresh, the day he broke my heart into pieces. I wipe the tears that flows in my cheeks. I'm crying again. After all these years I'm still inlove with him. Shit! Damn shit! My first love, and probably my last? I don't know. I'm not so sure of myself anymore.

" Mhicaelah! Are you even listening to me?You're spacing out again! God! "

"Oh you're saying something?" I asked. My thoughts suddenly lost in the air as I heard Charrie's voice.

" My gosh you're acting so strange lately! What's with you?"

" I'm sorry I just remembered something. I'm tired! Let's get home! " Sabay hila kay charrie. She's my bestfriend since college days. And kalalapag lang ng eroplanong sinakyan namin dito sa ******** Airport. We just flew all the way from London and it's already 9 in the evening.

I can't believe it but after five long years, I'm here again,in my homeland, Philippines.

" hmm, let me guess?You're thinking of him again? Gosh elah its been five years but still you can't get over him! "

I just smiled and get into the cab that is waiting for us. We checked in sa isang hotel sa Makati.

" I so damn tired! Let's get some sleep." I heard charrie said.

"Aren't we gonna eat first? Aren't you hungry?" I asked.

"Oh oo nga pala! I almost forgot! Gorabels!" Sabay hila sakin palabas ng room." So saan tayo?"

" I saw a restaurant just across the road."

"This place is good. What can you say elah?" Charrie said to me as we look around the resto looking for a vacant table.

"Yeah its good. I hope foods in here is good too" Masayang kong sabi sabay upo sa bakanting silya. Katapat kong umupo si Charrie. Agad kaming umurder ng food sa waitress.

"Oh I miss this place! Such a long time! I never thought we'll step again in this place." Biglang sabi ni Charrie.

"Me too!A long time indeed" and smiled faintly.Bakas ang lungkot sa aking mata.

"Here is your order Ma'am. Enjoy you're meal" the waitress said sabay alis.

Walang nagsalita samin at nagconcentrate nalang sa pagkain. Gutom eh! Galit-galit lang muna.hihi

Then suddenly I froze as I heard a familiar voice.

"Mhicaelah?Elah?Is that you?" He asked with a smile on his face.

And then dahan-dahan kong nilingon ang nagsalita. Memories came rushing into my mind! The pain, the love, happiness, mixed emotions. There I saw him. The very last man I want to see.

"Zachary Jed, what a coincidence" I replied with a fake smile on my face.

"What a small world huh? Where have you been? What are you doing here?It's been such a long time!" Sunod-sunod na tanong nito.

"Easy! One question at a time please" I said. God He is drop dead gorgeous! He still looks astonishing, even hotter than before. He's brown eyes, thick eye brows, pointed nose, thin yet seductive pinkish lips,his long hair from the center and extra short hair from the sides .He is wearing a black long sleeves with a white necktie and black pants.

"Eherm eherm!" Charrie just got our attention.

"Oh charrie I'm sorry I didn't noticed you ".Then smiled na parang nangaasar.

"Yeah right whatever!" Charrie replied. " What are you doing here anyway?"

"I asked that first. Anyway, I'm just having a dinner." And looked at me with a smile on his face.

"Ah kami rin but katatapos lang namin. Are you eating all by yourself?" I suddenly asked bago ko pa mabawi ang tanong. ah did I just said that? how stupid of me!

"Actually, I'm with somebody. She's on her way."

"Oh!Girlfriend?" Charrie asked with a poker face. While tahimik lang akong nakikinig sa kanila.

"Uhmm yes. Michelle. You two remember her don't you?"

"Well yes!How would I forget? She's the reason why ela-

"Uhmm we have to go Zach! Nice seeing you again." Sabay hila kay charrie palabas ng resto. My heart is throbing that fast! And I felt my body was shaking.Tahimik lang kaming naglakad pabalik sa hotel.

"What was that for?" Inis na tanong ni Charrie as we enter the hotel room.

"Ano kba charrie! Muntik na ako dun ah!Arghhh!" I said in frustration.

"Why? It's true naman ah! That bitch is one of the reason why you flew to london! And that stupid jerk! They don't know what you'd been through! And all these years, sila pa rin pala huh? tibay ah!" Galit na sabi nito. Samantalang tahimik lang akong nakikinig. I felt the pain and tears are starting to fall.

"And ano ang iniiyak-iyak mo jan ha? Stop it! Hindi ka ba napapagod?!It's been five years but what the heck! Iniiyakan mo pa rin ang walang hiyang lalaking yun!"

"I'm sorry I just can't help it! After all those years, I tried so fucking hard to forget him but I just can't! You knew I tried!" Luhaang sabi ko. Naaawang niyakap nalang ako ni Charrie.

"Hush now elah. I will not let that bastard hurt you again, like the way he did before. I swear! He'll pay for this. Big time!" Charrie exclaimed as she gritted her teeth in anger.

"Come let's sleep. Don't think of anything else. Just sleep. I'm here okay?" She said and guided me to the bed. As I close my eyes, memories from the past came rushing into my mind. How I met Zach.
