Little too Late

Chapter 6 Present

"Mhicaelah! You're phone is so annoying! Someon'e keeps calling you at this very early!" Nakasimangot na sabi ni charrie sabay takip ng unan sa tenga.

"Urghh! I'm sorry! Who could this be?" I said sabay abot ng phone ko sa may side table. The number is not registered. I wonder who could this be? I looked at my wrist watch, and it's already 6:335 am. Hindi ko namalayang nakatulog na pala ako.

"Give me a second I, I need to get my story straight my friends are in the bathroom getting higher in the empire state"  I heard my phone rang again. It's the same number AGAIN. She just keeps on looking at the screen and after 30 seconds of ringing she finally answer it.

"Hello?Who is this?" I said in a husky voice.

"Hi Mhicaelah! Did I wake you up?" I gasp as I heard that familiar voice. My hearts starts to palpitate.

"Uh-mm no-not really. ah well y-yes!" I can't believe it! I'm stuttering. What's the point of lying anyway?

"Oh I'm sorry!" He said in apologetic tone.

"Anyway, where did you get my number? And what do you want?"

I have my connections sweetheart." He said in a sexy tone. Nagsitayuan ang balahibo ko sa batok. He paused for a while and then he said "Would you mind if I invite you for breakfast? With me?"

My eyes widened in shock. "Uhmm is this some kind of a joke?" I just asked out of nowhere.

"No. I'm dead serious. So?" Tila naiinip nitong tanong.

"Uh I'm sorry I can't! Charrie and I have plans already." Pagtanggi ko even if I have strong urge to say yes. I can't. He's committed already with somebody else. Again, biglang sumakit ang dibdib ko na para bang kinukurot.

"I won't accept no for an answer. See you later!" He finally ended the call before I could protest. Napatingin nalang ako sa kawalan.

"Who's that? Siya ba yun?" Biglang tanong ni Charrie. I didn't know she's listening the whole time.

"Yes" Mahina kong sagot.

"What does he want? And paano niya nalaman ang number mo?" Nang bigla etong may maalala. "Damn that connections!" She hissed.

"He invited me to have breakfast with him." I said.

"The nerve of that guy!" Naiinis na sabi nito.

"Nevermind him. I'll just take a shower ng makakain na tayo." Sabay tayo at diritso sa bathroom. Pagkatapos kong magshower, sumunod naman si charrie. Sabay kaming lumabas ng hotel para maghanap ng makakainan. And we decided to eat at the resto just across the road. But when we we are about to cross the road, may biglang tumigil na sasakyan sa harap namin at dahan-dahang ibinaba ang bintana showing that brown eyes looking directly at me. I felt concious and uneasy. He's eyes is roaming my whole being. As if studying all of me.

My heart seems to stop for a second. I feel my face is burning. I really hate this feeling! I was only wearing a short shorts and a plain gray shirt woth a pair of tennis shoes.

"Good morning ladies! Hop in!" HE said with a smile showing that perfect set of teeth.

"No thank you!" Mataray na sagot ni charrie.

"I just told Mhicaelah that I don't accept no for an answer." He said at matiim na nakatingin sa akin. "And by the way sweetheart, you're blusing! HIndi ka pa rin nagbabago." He said while grinning.
