A KILLER'S INSTINCT

CHAPTER FIVE

Josh was ready for school with his back pack on his back. He walked to the kitchen pouring himself a glass of milk. Emily walked in dressed stylishly for work "where are u going?" Josh asked surprised "that's a dumb question" she replied taking out a box of cereal "how can you go to work when you almost got killed by an unidentified animal?" Josh asked dropping his back pack "first of all, I have repeatedly said it was not an animal and pls don't ask me what it was  because I don't know ok?"
"Okay fine but u are sure you are not freaked? " Josh asked finishing his glass of milk and picking up his back pack that he had dropped "to prove am not freaked,you can borrow one of my cars" Emily said with a smile
"Now that's the spirit. love you sis" he gave her a peck on th cheek  and went to school.
    Pete mcbrad went through most of his cold cases and found nothing that was similar to his current case of the strange wild animal. He knew no animal could be that fast , not talking of continuous eating of human flesh hitting his pen on the table he thought "what is that that thing"
       A client was to be met at CRYSTAL blue moon which made Emily to go to her Rival company .Raven was busy instructing some workers on what to do,when she saw Emily with two other advertising groups.  Raven looked around but Scott wasn't there she  walked up to Emily and asked "why isn't Mr Emerson here?" She asked. With a mocking smile Emily replied "you mean yur camera boy toy?
"Am gonna pretend you didn't just say that"Raven responded bottling the swelling anger inside of her "don't worry he'll be here"still with the mocking smile Raven rolled her eyes and walked away.Scott didn't show up at work he locked himself in his room and all effort made by Richie to get him out was to no avail Scott didn't know how to deal with his situation all he wanted was that thing inside him to leave. His live was turning upside down he couldn't even decide if he should find another apartment to avoid Richie finding out about him or worst. He had tried calling the strange number but no one picked up he tried tracing it but couldn't all his  efforts made, led him to a dead end. Scott was lost in thoughts not knowing how to carry that burden he had on his back his phone vibrated he picked it up "what do u want?" finding his voice he said
"Why didn't you come to work today?" Raven asked
"We are not  friends miss Rite"
"Come on Scott I just wanted to know and we are friends at least I consider us friends"
"Speaking to some one for five minutes don't make you a friend"
   "Scott Emerson you should be thrilled that Raven Rite is yur friend" she answered with a hint of arrogance in her voice
"Am hanging up now" Scott concluded suddenly realizing the conversation is going nowhere
"Wait, come down too Joe's bar" she asked with her fingers crossed hoping he would agree
"Why should I? " Scott asked
"Because I said so"
"Not interested"
"What about this if you come, I'll make sure you don't get an invitation to the next Emily Crane party which is in 2 hours and something tells me u are not in the mood to attend"  Scott  thought for a while but finally agreed.

It was already 5pm when he got there. He didn't want to go but getting his mind off things was exactly what he needed he couldn't take away the beast but could avoid it if possible.Raven was already seated when Scott walked up to her "I didn't really think u would show" she said with a welcoming smile "so i ask again why didn't u show at work"she added
     "I work for Emily Crane not Raven Rite" Scott answered
   "It's now  joint so technically u work for me too so why didn't you show up at work today?"Raven repeated
      "Stuff "
    "What kind of stuff?" She asked
   Scott rested his eyes on her "I can't tell you"
    "Wow, I love a little mystery" she lighted up her face with a smile that made Scott open up a little towards her "have you had this feeling that u to want get rid of something u can't control ?"
      "If you can't get rid of something, just control it" she suggested
    "I don't know how" rested into his chair 
       "I don't understand,what are we talking about?"
    "Nothing" he responded almost in a whisper
   "Good, then I'll go get us something strong " she got up
   "I don't drink" when Scott said this, it was obvious she wanted to laugh "you're joking right?" Then she saw he was serious"what did you do in  high school "she asked rhetorically walking away. few seconds after she left, Scott's phone vibrated he looked at the screen and it was the unknown number ''scott'' the voice came through ''because of u a little girl is dead what do want from me?"  Scott asked trying to control his voice from revealing his anger as he stood up and walked out of the bar "we want u to see the monster that u are"
"How do I get rid of it?" Scott asked impatiently
    "You can't Scott you cannot control yur WENDIGO"
    "WENDIGO?!"

"We'll be watching yur every move?"
"What......
The line went off. In anger he literally squeezed his phone and threw it at a wall. Later that day, Raven met up up with Daniel labaski at a cafe close to her mansion. "Do you have it" Daniel asked with his hands on the table "yes" Raven replied out of her bag, Raven brought out some pictures of Scott turning into a Wendigo to Daniel who looked at them with interest in his eyes " his trying to get rid of it  " Raven said looking straight into Daniel's eyes. He scoffed a laugh then said "Keep a close watch on him we don't want the boss to get angry" Daniel dropped the pictures on the table.
