When I got home I had dinner with the family then I went to my room and checked my phone. Marcus texted me.

MARCUS-Hey I'm sorry about how we left things.

LAUREN-Ya I'm sorry I ran off I just was stressed about studying for finals.

MARCUS- You stress out way to much. You need to give yourself a break.

LAUREN- I'm sorry I just don't want to mess up my grades so I can go to a good college.

MARCUS- Ya I get it. Its just that your already so good at this stuff and you have been studying for days.

LAUREN- Im sorry Mark.

MARCUS- Well maybe we could something again soon.

LAUREN- Yea I'll invite Erika too.

MARCUS- Okay.

I took Mark's advice and I turned off my phone and just took a nap which I haven't done in a while.

When I woke up the sun was shining brightly through my window. I was still in my jeans and had a full face of makeup that I never wiped off. I realized that I fell asleep early last night and it is the next morning. I didn't hear my alarm this morning. I picked up my phone and turned it on and it was 5:39 AM. Great more time at The Brew.

I showered and got dressed and popped in my mom and dads room and told them I was leaving early. I jumped in my Subaru and just prayed that he would be there.

When I was walking up to The Brew my stomach started turning and my mind started racing. I thought of Ethan with that girl and when he put his arm around her. Who was she? Would she be here? Is that his girlfriend? Why did I care!?!? I don't even know him.

I walked in and there he was without her. I refused to look at him and walked straight to the barista.

Today I ordered a Cafe Macchiato. I sat down and opened my laptop to study for finals. After maybe 10 minutes passed someone set down their coffee on the other side of the table. I looked up and there he was. His face was so perfect. His jawline was so sharp it could cut through you hand. His hair was just the right length. I couldn't find any reason to not be attracted to him.

"Hey Lauren." Ethan said setting down his laptop as I shut mine.

"Hi Ethan."I replied while smiling (I couldn't help it.)

"You studying for finals?" He asked.

"Actually I am. Um do you go to Morris Hills High too?"

"Ya I'm surprised I haven't seen you around there."

"Well its probably because Im not very popular." I said shyly.

"That's surprising. I mean your gorgeous."

I completely froze I was never expecting a guy like this to call me a word like that.

"Uhh thank you."

"So I saw you at the movies the other night. Was that guy your boyfriend?" He asked me stirring his coffee not looking at me.

"Um no that was my best friend Marcus actually. And what about you? Was that your girlfriend?" My heart was racing I was dying for him to say no.

"Well long story short, I thought she was cool so I asked her out and shes just another one of those typical girls if you know what I mean so no I ended that."

I have no idea what he means but I'm just hoping I'm not "one of those girls" and Im so relieved he said no.

"Well you did have your arm around her so she looked pretty special." I said jokingly.
