By now Clary was convinced that the only thing harder than fighting demons was picking out outfits.
"I've been through at least ten already," Clary told Isabelle over the phone.
"I'll be right over with something that will make the boys want you so much, Jace will be fending them with sticks. Or knives. You know, whichever one is handier at the time." Isabelle said to her.
Clary burst out laughing.

Isabelle wasn't joking around when she said she would be right over, Clary thought to herself. Isabelle was over in at the most, ten minutes. Looking fabulous, as ever.
"Okay, so here we have a serious fashion emergency. I am taking you shopping for new clothes in a few days, and there is nothing you can do to get out of it," Isabelle looked seriously disappointed in a lady's closet.
"Well, I Haven't had much time for that, considering everything that happened. After we dead water Sebastian, my mother, Luke, you guys, and Jace were my only priorities." Clary pointed out to her. "I haven't exactly been to many parties."
"You have to get noticed to get invited to party's, and this will not get you noticed. It's a good thing I brought that outfit I told you about on the phone. I was going to try and find something for you in your closet, but that's obviously not happening, so I'll just give you this."
Isabelle pulled a tight black leather crop top that fit in all the right (and particularly wrong) places. Followed by that there was a short leather shirt, and black high heels.
"Is everything most Shadowhunters own black?" Clary asked her.
"Well, most everything, at least. We own a few colorful items. And I must say, you're almost less fashionable than Alec, and I've seen his sweaters almost kill Magnus a few times. We seriously need a girls day soon."
"We'll cross that line when we get there," Clary said.
"I'll hold you to that statement when we get to that day," Isabelle laughed. "By the way, you have ten minutes. So change, and I'll be waiting outside the hall for you when your ready." Isabelle said over her shoulder as she was walking away.

Clary practically ran to the bathroom and threw on the outfit, which was easier said than done, and then brushed it her hair, (which immediately bounced back into its curls again), and applied some light makeup.
Isabelle was waiting outside for her, as promised.
"Now you look like a sexy Shadowhunter," Isabelle told her.
Clary just glanced around nervously.
"Anyway, you must have weapons on you at all times, so, here, this is another piece of electrum jewelry like my snake bracelet, but it just looks like thin metal bracelets. It works basically the same way mine does. Just grab it and yank really hard to activate it. It can serve as a whip, and as a staff. It's highly efficient for killing demons." Isabelle finished.
"Ah, fashionable and deadly," Clary smiled.
"The truest thing I've heard you say since you told me you liked your closet," Isabelle joked. "Come on, let's go see how the boys did with their outfits."

Jace looked hot. Like, hotter than usual. He wore a sleeveless black leather jacket, (pretty much what he wore almost all the time), and black pants and boots. But to her, he would always look better every time.
Clary noticed that he couldn't stop staring at her.
"You look, uh," he stuttered. "Pretty great, I guess," Jace tried to sound natural.
Clary responded by kissing him.
It was a shorter one that usual, just a little kiss to say "I love you", but it still was beautiful.
Alec walked over (not so casually) whistling, and looked like a mixture of not trying to laugh and not trying to puke.
Alec should have hid from Isabelle, but it was too late.
"ALEXANDER LIGHTWOOD! THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE LEAVING THIS INSTITUTE WEARING A SWEATER WITH A HOLE IN IT!" You could hear Isabelle in England. When she saw a fashion emergency, she saw a fashion EMERGENCY.
"You guys go ahead to the Pandemonium, Alec can call a cab. Clary can portal you guys there. I need to find Alec a new outfit, and burn all of his sweaters. We'll be a while." Isabelle finished.
"I am fine with my sweaters," Alec argued.
"Don't make me call Magnus and make him out you in something far too colorful and covered in glitter," Isabelle warned.
Alec was quiet after that.
"Well, shall we get going?" Clary held up her Stele.

The Pandemonium was the same as always. Smelled like B.O. And had a thin layer of dirt and grime over everything, but as fun as ever.
"Well well well, looked here," a girl walked up to Jace.
"Looks like we have beauty," she looked up seductively into his eyes, "and the beast." She pushed Clary away from Jace. The girl leaned up, intending to kiss Jace, but Jace responded by reaching out to Clary and pulling her into a kiss. They had their hands in each other's hair, and they didn't stop until the girl was out of sight.
"Thanks," Clary told him.
"I, Jace Herondale, will never kiss another girl except for you as long as I may live," Jace told her.
"I'll hold you to that," Clary laughed.
The rest of the night was a blur. Kissing, laughing, dancing, lots of fun for sure, but by far the funniest thing that happened was when Isabelle dragged a depressed looking Alec into the building, wearing what looked to be a rainbow-ombré suit bedazzled with sequins, and his hair was filled with glitter and, kind of lumpy. It seemed as though Isabelle did have to call Magnus after all, since Magnus stood by the door of his club for a minute, watching Alec, looking deeply amused.
"Lookin good, Alec," I said to him, which made him fume.
"Aw, don't mess with the little grouchy Unicorn, he's had a rough day," Isabelle laughed at the words.
Then the lights had flickered, and a voice over the intercom said: "the time is now 1:30 am, and thus the club is now closed. Get out, please." The voice was Magnus's.
Everyone else cleared out relatively quickly, and soon it was just Clary, Jace, Simon, who had shown up at some point with them and complimented Isabelle on her 'quote on quote': "Super hot sexy dress." Magnus and Alec stood aside. Alec complained so much, that Magnus snapped his fingers and Alec was back in his normal clothes again. He looked much happier, but he got a glare from Isabelle.
"Well, we should all get back to the Institute," Isabelle told them.
"Yeah, we should. Tonight was fun, though. Thanks for letting us in for free, Magnus." Clary told him.
"No no, I believe I should be thanking Isabelle, who gave me permission to put Alexander in that outfit," he told us.
We all started laughing.
Suddenly, the lights cut out. Magnus' Shane lit up, and five witchlights were lit. They were surrounded by demons, but the largest one was at the front, who spoke only one sentence: "I am Orldkan, and I will let you all go, except for one, the ex-daylighter/vampire who is now a Shadowhunter, seeing as his runes will make an excellent addition to my collection."
The lights flicked back on, and every demon was gone, and the remnants of a laugh were heard floating away.
And Simon was gone.
