Britt Robertson as Kaylee
*****

Aiden POV

"I was taking my daily run through the woods when it happened. Usually I do it right before my dinner but I had to fit it in earlier because I needed to get ready to go to Kaylee's house later that evening. I was chasing a rabbit, scaring it for fun when I heard the crash and Kaylee's scream. I was there in an instant, watching as she dragged herself to a tree and nearly pulled the glass from her own body. I didn't mean to carry her 50 meters into the woods. I didn't mean to bite her." My voice doesn't waver but my older brother can see and smell the panic that is consuming me.

"You have a lot of explaining to do." He says simply. I put my face in my hands.

"Brett, I'm serious. She's gonna hate me!" I say, but he ignores me.

"So? It's not my problem." He shrugs, standing up. He towers over me, his dirty blond hair sticking out in contrast to the dark room.

"Why do I have to be the Alpha?" I groaned.

"Well, I rejected my position and you're the only other living male in the family." He says smirking. "Plus, I can't be the pack doctor and the Alpha."

"Well, it looks like you'll finally have a pack to doctor now." I say sadly. I turn to look over at Kaylee, who is lying on my bed.

"She'll be waking up any minute now so I would back up if I were y-" Brett starts, but Kaylee sits up abruptly. She roars out in pain as her fangs come out and her claws tear the sheets to pieces. Her body shakes as she whimpers.

"What's h- happening to me?" She gasps out, her now eyes flickering from her normally hazel ones to her blue werewolf ones. She looked so beautiful, her blonde hair slightly messed up and her school clothes ripped and torn as if she had just gone on a run through the woods. Us werewolves have a different definition of beautiful than humans do. I walked over to her and sat down on the bed. She stopped shifting as her body settled into a half transformation. She lifted her hands to look at her claws.

"Wh- what am I?" She says, her eyes landing on Brett. He immediately gets on one knee, bowing his head. She looks confused so I walk over to him.

"Not now. I'll tell her later, okay?" He nods and silently leaves the room.

"You bit me."

I slowly turn around, cringing. I walk back over to her and sit down. She stares with fear at her claws as she flexes her fingers.

"Kaylee, you're a werewolf." I say simply, and she freezes.

"Y- you- I- um- Peter?!" She blurts out.

"My name's Aiden, Kaylee." I say, laughing.

"So your last name isn't Hale?"

"My last name's BlackNight, Kaylee." I repeat, in the same tone. She shakes her head.

"Let me explain some things." I tell her, and she nods slowly. "So, let's start with the- um, the bite. When I found you after the car wreck, I could tell you weren't going to live. But since I bit you, you're healing abilities became enhanced so that I could save your life." I look at her for questions. She nods, telling me to go on.

"The bite turned you into a full werewolf. So half human half wolf. What you are doing now is a half transformation. That is when you are in between your human and wolf form. When you fully transform, you become an actual wolf." She raises her hand to stop me.

"You said full werewolf. Does that mean there are half werewolves?" She asks, and I nod.

"Allie is a half werewolf, but I'm a full one. So is my older brother Brett." I pause and look at her reaction. She seems calm, so I continue. "One important part of the werewolf world is that everyone has a mate. A mate is a person that a werewolf is destined to be with. Their mate can be human or half-human." I watch as Kaylee's cheeks tinge pink and she looks down. I wonder what she's thinking? "Oh, and the Luna is the Alpha's mate."
