Just as the cast and crew were getting used to seeing Torrey around set again, Paul and Torrey told them the news of her pregnancy. Everyone was shocked at the news but most suspected it. Rumors were flying around that the only reason that they got back together was because Torrey was pregnant, but Ian quickly shut down that rumor. Although he tried to kill the rumor it still flowed around but Paul wasn't going to let that get to him. He was going to be a father soon and all of his focus was on Torrey and the baby and memorizing his lines –in that order.
The weekend rolled around and all Torrey wanted to do was snuggle up next to Paul under the covers with a bag of Lays chips in which she would dip in peanut butter. Paul thought her craving was more disgusting then when his mom was pregnant with his little sister, Leah, and she craved pickles juice on everything she ate. He loved it though, the cravings reminded him that their baby was coming soon and when Torrey would wake him up in the middle of the night asking for a McDonalds Big Mac he would gladly go get it for her.
He kissed her as tears flowed from her face. They were watching Love Actually and even though he would admit that it had a sad moment he wouldn't classify it as a crying moment. He had to remind himself that pregnant women were always emotional so it was only natural that she cried.
"You okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine," she sniffled, "I'm just a little emotional is all."
Paul held back his laugh knowing that if he did, he'll find himself on the couch...again. He kissed her and wiped the tears away before they stained her face.
"You're beautiful Torrey."
"You're just saying that because I'm emotional." She denied his complement.
"No, honey, I mean it. Your skin is glowing more than usual, you're carrying my child," he spoke rubbing her belly, "I can't think of anything more beautiful." He stared into her eyes while speaking his confession then he kissed her sweetly.
"Paul, my hormones are on a fritz, don't start something you can't finish." Torrey warned.
"T, trust me I can finish anything I start."
She bit her lip and covered her lips with his. Paul smiled in the kiss then tossed the chips and peanut butter to the side. It wasn't the most awful kiss that he had, it actually tasted pretty good. He would have to try it sometime.
Today was the day that they could find out the sex of their baby. Paul wanted a girl badly and Torrey didn't have a preference. As long as the baby turned out healthy she didn't care much for what she was carrying. She wished that she was carrying a girl just to please Paul, but she knew that he would love their child either way.
Torrey lies on the bed in the doctor’s room waiting for Mrs. Bowman. Paul reaches for her hand and kisses it. She smiles at the jester then they hear a knock on the door before Cassandra walks in.
"Hey guys are you ready to know the sex?"
"Yes" Paul says with a nod.
"Alright, Torrey, could you lift up your shirt please?" Cassandra poured the cold jell on her stomach and turned to the monitor. She searched around a few before she stood up to get a closer look, "Congratulations Paul and Torrey, you're having a baby girl!"
They immediately burst into tears at the news. Paul grabbed Torrey face and kissed her gently and wiped her tears away.
"We're having a girl" Paul said astonished.
"We're having a girl" Torrey smiled through tears.
Cassandra held her heart. First time parents were her favorite. The look in their eyes and how amazed they are about the littlest details made her heart melt. This was the reason that she has this job, she can't have kids herself so it felt great to tell other people that they were expecting.
