Chapter 20

It was the middle of winter and I had traveled to North Carolina for a college interview. In which carter did not know about.

After the college interview I walked around town to grab some winter clothes.

And it just so happened that the store I walked into was Carter's favorite store.

I picked up the first shirt I saw.

See I do this crazy thing that I do a lot.

When I'm in a store I always rock back and forth on my heels. And when I'm talking to a boy I always slightly rub my nose.

So I stood there in the middle of the store rocking back and forth on my heels with the shirt in my hands.

I had my earphones in so I continued walking not knowing my surroundings.

So I looking down trip over someone shoe into a complete stranger... Or so that's what I thought.

Carter's POV

I walked into one of my favorite stores in the mall looking for my snapback that Matt had just hid last night.

I was frantically looking in the back of the store. I got on all fours and looked at the ground. I didn't find the hat but I saw something weird. The thing I saw was what Jess always did. The things with her feet.

That's not her. I said to myself

I sighed realizing how much I missed Jess. So I walked over to the snap backs to see if I could find the one I seemed to have lost. The girl I quickly passed was wearing a sweatshirt that I seemed to have noticed. Her hood was over her head and she had head phones in there was no way id be able to see if I knew her. So I ignored it.

Right when I found my hat on the shelf. The hooded girl tripped over someone shoe.

Now I couldn't just watch her fall on her face that would be rude. So I caught her.

And that's when I saw the face i had been dying to see for the past 6 months.

The freckles across her nose.

The orange beautiful hair

The hood fell off of her head and the ear phones were pulled out of her ears.

"Jess?"

"Carter?"
