Chapter 12

I woke up and instantly walked downstairs to ask what my dad was doing today. "I have to work of course." I nodded. "Is it okay if Justin comes over? I'm going to make us dinner." He nodded. "You guys need it. Have fun." He patted my leg and stood up. My dad and I's relationship has progressed so much in the past couple weeks. I can really tell he accepts me for me and I'm glad. 

I ran upstairs and texted Justin.

Alex: My dad's not going to be home. Can't wait to see you.

He didn't reply back and it's understandable because it's only 9 in the morning. I got clothes out of my closet and walked to my bathroom to shower. I played Selena Gomez from my phone and sat it on the corner of the sink. I reached over and turned on the shower, making sure it's not too hot. When I got the water just the way I like it I got undressed and hopped in. 

I got out and laid on my bed waiting for a reply. He should be getting up soon. And I was correct

Justin: Thank the lord, I'm going to be busy today see you at 6. ;)
Alex: No emojis allowed.
Justin: Oops.

I smiled and got up from my bed. Might as well do something today. I slipped on my shoes and texted Jessica.

Alex: Hey, I'm coming over be ready.

Jessica: Okay stranger.

I smiled and walked out my house heading to Jessica's. 

"We rarely ever talk anymore," Jessica said to me when we walked up to her room. "Well, you know. I've been....busy." Jessica pushed me. "Well, you are with Justin. He's a lot to handle." I laughed "Actually I'm the one that is complicated." Jessica looked at me. "Do you love him?" I nodded. "Yeah, I don't know what I'd do without him." "I loved him, but not the way you do. I realized this after we broke up. I loved him as a best friend, nothing more." I nodded my head. "Can I come clean with you?" Jessica nodded. "While you guys were dating Justin and I was talking and seeing each other." Jessica gave a small laugh. "I always figured, but I didn't want to believe. I mean I saw your messages. He never deleted them." I nodded. "Thank you for not hating me Jessica." "I could never hate you Alex." 

It's getting close to 5:30 so I started to cook dinner. I'm just going to make a simple spaghetti dinner because I am horrible at cooking and it's easy. I got the pan and started to boil water. 

Alex: Hey, starting to make dinner. Can't wait until you get here.

I put in the noodles and checked my phone to see if Justin messaged me, he didn't. Maybe he's still busy. I got two plates out and sat them down at the table. My phone went off so I pulled it out of my pocket and checked it. 

Justin: Can't come over now. I'm sorry. :(

Usually I would tease him about the emoji but I'm not in the mood. I turned off the stove and hurried and threw everything away angrily. I ran up to my room burying my head into my pillow. I did everything I could to sleep, but it was no use. I tossed and turned all night.
