Chapter Two

As I strolled out of the Poseidon cabin, I couldn't help but feel excited to see Nico. I didn't know why, but whenever I saw him I just felt... happier.

Before seeing him, I had to look more decent than I did. After I arrived at the Artemis cabin, I changed put of my pajamas into my leather jacket and stepped into my favorite jeans. After a few sprays of perfume, I walked out the door.

I started towards the Hades cabin, rehearsing words to say in my head: "Hey Death Breath, what's poppin'?" No, too weird. "Hey Nico, how's your morning?" No, that sounds fake. "Hey Death Breath, what's up?" Yeah, that sounds good, nice and simple.

I finally made it to the door and knocked. Since he was the only person in the cabin, I didn't have to worry about anyone else answering the door.

No answer.

Realizing that it was still 7 AM, I was about ready to give up and go back to my cabin. As I stepped away from the door, it swung open. Nico, with some ridiculous bed-head, looked at me in confusion.

"Thalia? What are you doing?" He asked, his eyes tired.

"Oh my Gods. I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were still asleep." I apologized, blushing profusely.

"Oh don't worry about it. It's okay Thalia, I had to get up soon anyway and I forgot to set an alarm, so thanks." Nico said, obviously feeling bad for making me feel embarrassed.

After Nico invited me inside the cabin, he asked why I came.

"Well it felt like I'd seen everyone this morning except you, so I just wanted to check on you" I lied. In reality, I really just wanted to see him.

"Oh, well thanks for looking out for me, Thalia."

After Nico said that, there was a short silence, but we eventually kept the conversation going about how I TP'd the Poseidon cabin and how Annabeth was embarrassed about what I had implied about her and Percy. We laughed until it was time to eat breakfast.
