chapter 18

Today was Monday and I woke up with a smile. Although Brent and I were only broken up for a few days it felt like forever. I just felt so right with Brent. I got ready and ate breakfast and then went out to Brent's car. As usual we sat in the back together and talked about random things. When we got to school Brent had to go turn in a project so I just waited by my locker. I scrolled through my phone when someone came up next to me. It was Jake. " Hey," he said. I hadn't talked to him since the night he talked to me from my window. " Hey, you go here?'' I asked. " Ya, my sister has gone here since we moved but I did online school. I decided though that I wanted to finish up the year at a real school.'' "Cool," I said and then I walked away. "Wait," he said. "I know I made you uncomfortable when I kissed you, but I would really like to do something with you, as friends. I am going roller-skating with my sister and her friends Becca and Trinity on Saturday and I was wondering if you would like to go?" I thought about it. There would be three girls there so it would not be like a date. Jake also seemed really nice. "Sure," I said and walked away. I couldn't wait to meet his sister and her friends for they must be nice too.

Jake P.O.V.

"Did you ask her," my sister, Sam, asked. "Yes," I said. "Good, now remember to follow the plan on Saturday," she said and walked off. My sister hated Sydney for she ruined her chances with Brent. I felt bad trying to sabotage Sydney though. She was so nice and I really liked her. Sam wanted to get back Sydney for causing Brent to break up with her just after he asked her out. The plan was that I would take Sydney to the roller rink where Brent went was going with his guy friends on Saturday night. Sam's friends Trinity and Becca would hang out with Brent and his friends and get to know them. I would spend the night with Sydney. Then, at Sam's signal, I would kiss Sydney and Trinity and Becca would lure Brent and his friends over. Brent would see his girlfriend kissing me and get mad. He would them break up with Sydney and go back to Sam. The plan would cause Sydney to be single and Brent to go out with my sister. Sam convinced me to do this though for there was a slight chance Sydney would want to go out with me since her and Brent would be over. I really wanted to go out with her so I told Sam I would do it. Sam was going to the rink in the car with Trinity while I took Becca and Sydney. Sydney didn't know Sam was the Sam who hated her so I wanted to wait till we got to the rink for her to fin out. She would them want nothing to do with Sam or her friends and then spend the night with me so the plan would work. The bell for class rang so I went to my locker. After Saturday I might actually have a chance with Sydney.
