Chandlyn Was Real

Someone To Lean On.

Katelyn's POV

Chan sits me down on the bed and tells me to wait there. I stare at my palms and see that my nails have made a slight indentation in my skin. I'm shaky and all my eyes can do is dart around the room. I'm nervous but I dont know why.

It's a break up- not even that! We weren't even dating. But I know thats not why I'm nervous. I'm nervous because I dont know why I came to chandler. Yes, he is my best friend. But he's a guy. And won't it be kind of awkward because of everything that happened in the past between us?

Why didn't I just go to Lauren or Danai or anyone besides chandler!? I dont know but... I do.

Chandler's POV

After I leave Katelyn on the bed I go into the small kitchen of my hotel room and try to make something rich and sweet. I don't know what happened but what I do know is that desserts will fix any problem when it comes to Katelyn, she has a HUGE sweet tooth.

I grab some instant brownie mix and a tub of chocolate-Carmel ice cream. I walk back into the main area and tiptoe toward Katelyn.

I sit down next to her as she lifts her head slowly to look at me. I gesture to the ice cream. However, she usually smiles widely and gets all giddy at the sight of ice cream, this time she just gives out a little grin and looks down to where there is a shadow cast over her eyes.

I look down to see her hands are cupped together. I put he tub off ice cream down and go onto the kitchen to grab some spoons.

I walk back into the main room to see Katelyn has already taken a scoop out with her finger. I busts out laughing so hard I can't contain it.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!"

she looked up at me just a bit confused and said "what? I like ice cream."

We then both burst into laughter!

After that we kind of just talked.  But not about whatever happened to Katelyn.  She is smiling again and I don't want to ruin that.

Katelyn sighs and sits her spoon down.

"Okay well I know you probably want to know what happened", she said with a forced laugh.

"You don't have to say anything you don't want to."

Katelyn's POV

"No, no, it's fine."

I then started to tell him the story...

Chan was now looking at the floor. His jaw is clenched.

"You deserve better..."

"But... Thats not the reason I'm this upset."I say as he continues looking at the floor.

"I can't really pinpoint why I feel the way I do right now but... I think it has something to do with us.  I could have gone to anyone... Lauren... Danai.. anyone.  They're all in this hotel, I could have easily gone to them about this.  Especially after all the stuff thats happened between us it almost feels wrong coming to you about this kind of stuff.  It feels weird and I can't explain it.", I can't help myself and start crying.

With tears streaming down my face I continue," I just really don't want to lose this amazing friendship and I'm afraid I'm going to mess it all up... *sob* *sob* I'm so sorry!"

"Stop." Chan says after a moment.

"I just feel bad I put you through all this!  I'm a mess and you shouldn't have to deal with it!"

Chan looks up at me "Stop."

My hands are really shaking at this point but I can't stop. I just keep rambling and rambling on. "You don't disserve all this! You've been going through so much lately with your ex-girlfriend an-"

"Stop it!"

"IcantImsorryImsoscaredthatImgoing toruineverythingwehaveandchanI careaboutyouI..I..can'thelpbuthurtliketh-"

And he did it.

He shut me up.

And in the best way he could have.

He kisses me.

With one hand on my leg.  And the other on my neck, with his thumb grazing my cheek. 

His lips meet mine.  And my eyes slowly flicker shut.

Everything stops. I forget about Mingus.  I forget about the girl.  Nothing matters but me and Chandler.  In this moment I'm
happy.

He slowly pulls away.  And looks at me.  I smile and he smilesback. 

I can't take it anymore and jump onto him for a hug. He falls backwards onto the bed and rolls over on top of me.

"You can't take anything seriously can you." He says with a big grin.

"Hmm.. NOPE! Ahahaha!" I laugh

Chandler's POV
