Only you
Olivia hadn't seen Tommy since yesterday. She woke up and made her way downstairs. Before she made her way to the kitchen, something caught her eye in the front room. She walked in to find a black box and a note sitting on top. It was Tommy's handwriting. Olivia smiled as she opened the note and began to read:
Olivia,
Dinner tonight? I thought so. To apologise for the other night, I will pick you up at 7pm. And open the box, I think you will like it.
Tommy.
Olivia beamed at the note. He was a secret romantic at heart but only she knew that. She began to unwrap the box in front of her. It reminded her of the first time her and Tommy went to the races. To no surprise, she pulled out the packaging to find a beautiful, black dress. Olivia held the dress against her body and carefully took the bottom and pretended to be dancing. Olivia carefully placed the dress back in the box.
She couldn't wait for dinner tonight. But something seemed different. It wasn't unusual for him to treat her but it was only dinner right? Olivia shook of the thought, telling herself she was being silly. She turned on her radio and began to get ready for tonight.
Tommy was pacing up and down Polly's kitchen. He had been non stop for hours.
'Tommy, do you mind? I'm going to need a new floor if you don't give over!' Polly commented watching him from the kitchen table, sipping a cup of tea. Tommy stopped and turned to her. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. 'Look love, don't worry. That girl loves you and you love her,' Polly said. Tommy nodded his head.
Olivia grazed her fingers over her hair making sure it was in place. Tommy wasn't going to be taking her just anywhere tonight. She wouldn't be wearing a beautiful dress like this. She heard a car horn beep from outside. Tommy. Olivia spritz herself with her perfume and made her way out of her house. Tommy was leaving against his car, a cigarette hanging from his mouth. Olivia couldn't help but smile, god, she loves this man. He was wearing a dinner suit, they defiantly were going somewhere fancy tonight.
Tommy glanced up to see Olivia wearing the dress he bought her. She looked like something out of a magazine. Beautiful. More than words. Tommy took the cigarette from his mouth and flicked it to one side. Olivia walked over to him and he took hold if her hand.
'Beautiful.' Olivia smiled at his words. He could still make her smile. Tommy opened the car door for her and she got in. Tommy walked around the back of the car, taking in a deep breath as he did so. He was going to do this.
Olivia chuckled as Tommy finished telling a story of Arthur and John when they were much younger. Olivia's eyes glinted as Tommy watched her. Tommy had taken Olivia to a very fancy restaurant outside of Birmingham. The place was buzzing with people and music. Tommy couldn't stop thinking about what he was going to do. He kept playing with the box in his pocket hoping Olivia wouldn't notice.
The Night was coming to an end and Olivia had ordered another glass of whiskey. Tommy smiled as he watched the blonde in front of him sip at the liquor. Olivia noticed.
'Tommy, are you okay?' Olivia asked with a raised eyebrow. The Night had been perfect and Olivia had noticed Tommy was being unusual. Tommy looked over at the blonde and nodded his head. He got out of his seat and pulled the chair around to sit next to her. Olivia watched with curiosity as he did so. When he sat down she couldn't help smile. This man was beyond amazing and she couldn't help but feel happy about how they had worked this all out between them with everything they had been through.
'Olivia, I have something I need to ask you,' Tommy started, his words slightly stuttered. Olivia noticed his nerves and took hold of his hand. He took a deep breath. 'I love you Olivia. You know I would do anything to look after you and keep you from harm. Olivia, will you marry me?' Tommy asked as he pulled out the box and presented the ring. Olivia gasped as she looked down to see a beautiful topaz gem sitting on a gold band. She looked up at Tommy.
'Of course I will, Tommy!' Olivia exclaimed as she took the side of his face and kissed him. A small tear rolled down Olivia's cheek as Tommy took the ring out of the box and placed it on her finger. She looked up at his pale blue eyes and she beamed with joy. Tommy leaned forward and kissed her again.
'You can't get rid of me now Shelby,' Olivia exclaimed, laughing through her joy. Tommy smiled and took hold of her hand.
'I never will Olivia. I never will,' Tommy said softly. Olivia couldn't help but look down at the ring sitting perfectly on her finger. She never thought she would be a married woman. But she couldn't think of a better life without Tommy.
The couple beamed on the drive back home. Olivia felt as though she was in a dream.they pulled up outside Olivia's house. Olivia placed the key in the front door and opened it. Tommy already had his arms wrapped around her slender waist. She spun around, wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a long, deep kiss.
Olivia laughed as she grabbed hold of his hand and led up up the stairs to her bedroom. Tommy let go and watched her enter the bedroom. Realising he was still outside the door, Olivia turned to him. He watched as she undid the zip on her dress and Tommy watched as it fell to the floor. He couldn't help but take in every inch of his future bride.
Olivia flashed a smile, enjoying his eyes travel over her body. She beckoned him in with a curl of her finger. Tommy rushed over and picked Olivia up and she automatically wrapped her arms and legs around his muscular body. He kissed her along her delicate neck and down her chest. His body forced hers against the bedroom wall and Olivia moaned. Having her wrapped around his body made her feel protected and safe. She leaned down to kiss him.
'I love you, Thomas Shelby,' she whispered in his ear as he continued to places kisses on her soft skin. He looked up and ran his hand through her blonde locks.
'I love you too, Soon to be Olivia Shelby.'
Olivia felt butterflies form in her stomach at the words. The couple collapsed on the bed and spent the night wrapped in each other's arms.
