My whole world had just come crashing down.

Getting back here and just seeing Nick, so defenseless, so powerless- it killed me.

How did that even happen? What did Nick do that caused him to be beaten to death?

I stared at the floor crying, in my now empty room.

Did he try to escape?

What had he done to make Negan want to kill him?

They shouldn't be able to get away with this, should they?

I couldn't believe he was dead. They killed him right in front of me.

Was it something I did? I didn't think I did anything wrong.

They killed him. Negan killed him.

I had trusted them and they killed my best friend, the only family I had left.

I had nothing left here, I was going to leave.

I didn't care how much they threatened to kill me, my purpose in life was gone.

I was going to leave, but I had to figure out some things first.

It was almost my shift for guard duty anyway.

They expected me to go out there and keep watch for them after they killed my best friend.

But I had no choice- if I didn't they might kill me too, I wasn't sure.

I stood up slowly and tried to make it look like I hadn't been crying.

But I heard a knock on the door before I could do much of that.

"Come in," I said, my voice breaking.

The door opened slightly and I saw Gil walk in.

Gil. The only person I still actually trusted.

"I'm sorry about your friend," he said. "But it had to happen, he helped Dwight escape and thought he'd get away with it."

"Did Dwight get out?" I asked.

"You didn't notice that he was gone?" Gil said, laughing a bit at the end.

I shook my head weakly.

"Anyway, Daisy, we're having some trouble with the kingdom," he said.
"We need you for another supply run, they're not giving us what we need," Gil said.

"Bring your gun. Meet us at the gate in five minutes."

Sorry this chapter was short, I kind of needed a shorter chapter before the next one. Hope you enjoyed this though!
