The hour long drive to the kingdom's meeting spot flew by as I though of Nick.

Gone. Dead. I missed him.

Nick was special. He was like a brother to me.

We had almost arrived at the kingdom's meeting spot, and when we rounded the corner I knew I was correct.

Had it been a week? A day?

Time didn't matter anymore, I had completely lost track of it.

Keeping track of the days didn't matter if Nick was gone.

I hopped out of the truck and looked at Gil to guide me along.

Everybody was standing there not doing anything.

Finally, Gil said,"Where are they?"

"Hopefully they get here soon, or their going to be in deep trouble," Jack said.

These words then started to sink into my head. I turned around to see that they weren't there.

Why hadn't I noticed?

The only thing that could make
me feel like this was Nick's death.

Not paying attention, out of it. That is how I felt.

Five minutes later, The Kingdom finally showed up.
