"She's the one who left you bankrupt!" She announced, loud enough so even the birds in the sky to hear.
"Jade, that's ridiculous! She -"
Out of the blue, this smartly dressed woman came by Jade's side, "What Miss LaFontaine is saying is correct." German didn't know what to say. What could he say to that? "Esmeralda DePietro is an actress, and she's going to have to come with us." Wait, she's being arrested, this is too crazy.
Esmeralda finally stood up and said something for herself, "It wasn't all me! They forced me to do it!" She looked on the unconvinced eyes of Parodi, the officer, "Jade.... and, and Matias, oh, he was here somewhere!" She grumbled.
Jade didn't look impressed, "You liar! That's simply nuts!"
The bride gestured to Parodi, "This is your friend, you're the one who should go to jail!" Olga and Ramallo looked at eachother in shock.
Heartily, Jade laughed, "Oh come on, everyone knows I'm not smart enough to carry out a plan like this!"
"I didn't want to do it, German, I'm sorry!" Esmeralda wailed and ran off.
"Stop her!" Said Parodi. They chased her until she was arrested.
Everyone in the wedding was now in a state of uproar. No one had a clue of what to do with themselves. All German could hear were quiet whispers and gasps telling how his second wedding was a disaster. At least Esmeralda didn't have his last name. They never actually got to the kissing the bride part.
Violetta ran up to her dad in consolation and hugged him. Jade had seized her chance. "Oh German, I don't know how you must feel!" She said intruding on this moment.
German went to the nearest chair and sat down. Violetta followed. Jade went to profess how much she cared for her father and how she had miraculously saved the day. Violetta had lost her mind with her. There was nothing different there. The authorities came to German then and told him that Esmeralda had managed to escape. He dropped his head. They assured him that they would find her.
Ramallo pulled out a bunch of papers. Violetta asked what they were. Parodi told her that they were extracts from a diary. Not hers because she didn't recognise it as her own. No, it wasn't hers, it was her mother's. German asked why she would do such a thing. She told him it was obvious. So she could be like Maria, get to know her and get her to fall in love with you. German was heart broken.
But Jade was here. She asked her about Esmeralda and how if they were close friends she couldn't be suspicious. As usual, Jade tried to pick an argument with her. German's head sunk lower on his shoulders. Violetta asked him if he was okay. He told her that he needed to get away. He went to leave and Jade said that she needed to be with him. Angie stopped her though and told her that he only needed his daughter. In true Jade fashion, she sulked. Violetta pushed through them and left.
Matty came and asked what had happened how German was. Angie was dumbfounded. How was he supposed to be? Happy? Parodi and Ramallo were talking about the investigation. They approached them. "We found Mr Castillo's money located in her account." Ramallo furrowed his brow, "If she had already had the money, then why didn't she run?"
"Good question." Admitted Ramallo.
"If she stayed, it must have been for a reason, and I'm going to find out what."
Angie had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was her. She was the reason. All this time, Esmeralda had been jealous of losing out to her.
A few hours later, when the guests had left, German sat at the piano. He had found out that Angie would be leaving soon and he had said nothing to her. She deserved a goodbye. Violetta came to him then and asked if he was alright. He told her he was and asked about Angie.
Why would he want to ask me about Angie? Violetta thought, because he really wanted to marry her instead of Esmeralda, because he loves her, because he knows about her new job? She tried not to let him know that she knew. He knew about her new job.
German sadly smiled and said, "I know." Well at least she didn't have to lie about knowing. "I want to say goodbye." Immediately Violetta knew what to do. She saw Angie in the kitchen last. She ran there and pulled her out by the hand. Angie laughed, wondering what she could want that was so urgent. When she was un-routinely dragged into the living room, she saw German. They hadn't spoken properly since the Geremias incident.
"Sing with us, Angie." Violetta stated.
She looked at German and became shy, "No, no, I couldn't."
"You can!" She said, her smile lighting up her whole face.
Angie couldn't say no to her little, but not so little anymore, niece. "Okay." She smiled, convinced. German looked at Angie, and then at Violetta before he started playing. They were going to sing the song she wrote. The way it was meant to be sung. In this moment she was so happy. With everyone she loved, doing exactly what she loved.
Ramallo and Olga walked in on them and marvelled at Violetta's fantastic singing voice. She had grown so much. They noticed the way German and Angie looked at each other. Wouldn't they ever admit it?
It seemed funny. Not ha-ha funny, but peculiar funny, because the three of them together, singing, seemed like the perfect family. It was too bad that one of them was leaving soon.
The song finished and the three of them enveloped each other into a massive hug. They were all going to miss Angie. Very much.
