Today was rather interesting, there was another couple here to pick out a child, so i had to do more check ups for mental health and wounds. Now, usually this goes pretty quickly because i know what to look for in kids, but this time i found more scratches, even some shallow stab wounds. Now, of course, i bandaged these wounds up and i asked the children who had caused them, but almost all of them were too scared to tell. That is until i found a young boy who told me through his tears.
It is such a strange tale he told me. Apparently, the young boy was stabbed when he mumbled something under his breath and the new boy, Christien, had attacked him. With no reason, Christien had stabbed him and scratched him like a wild animal. Christien had attacked so many children for such little reasons. I can only watch him more, to see if this is truly intermittent explosive disorder or just a bad temper that he needs to quail. Now, on another subject, i have been watching Nina and Tobias all day. I took lunch in the commons area to keep an eye on them and to my surprise, they were rather...friendly. Tobias was entertaining a toddler with the ends of his jacket, and Mark was putting hand prints in the dust on the wall, Christien was tormenting Samantha, but she was letting him. Nina had me curious, she was walking in circles, chasing something that only she could see.
She didn't seem aware of the world around her, she wasn't too busy in her own world, it was like she didn't know she was in this world like she saw nothing around her except for whatever she saw and was chasing in a circle. If i didn't know any better, i would say she was hallucinating. Alas, that is difficult to prove, with her being so young and showing too little of signs that I've seen for schizophrenia.
Well, it seems like I've gotten off track. Anyway, the couple went around and looked at the children, meeting them one by one until they came to the four siblings. They spoke to all of them and took an interest in Mark and Christien. They seemed ready to adopt the two but to my surprise, the boys screamed and cried when they tried to separate them from Tobias and Nina. The parents were frightened so they released the two. I watched the couple share a concerned look before going off to choose another child or children, how odd that the two boys did not want to be adopted. Alas, i must go to bed, so good night, and i hope that this mystery is gonna get solved soon.
