So, it was another slow day at the beginning. My assistant Anna had promised to call me if someone came in with an injury or problem, so i went out to stroll through the house once more. The walls were as fancy as ever, and the carpets were freshly vacuumed by the maids and Roomba's, the windows were washed and it was a very pretty sight to see.
There were children in some of the smaller rooms, playing with an assortment of toys and other things that entertained them. Strangely, i did not see the four lancaster kids anywhere in the house while i walked. Nina didn't even follow me.
I was pondering where they were when a shrill scream got my attention and i took off down the hall, following the sound to one of the rooms that the children usually slept in. Against the walls stood three or four bunk beds, the floor was littered with stuffed animals and other toys, and a toy box was pushed into against the wall next to the door. In the middle of the room was a maid, staring up at the ceiling with her arms poised upwards with tears in her eyes.I was confused, but i looked up and a wave of shock hit me like a load of bricks. On the ceiling, somehow clinging to the ceiling on his knees was Mark, He had long curved talons sank into the soft material of the roof and he was looking forward at the top of the wall. "Child, just let go and i will catch you!" The maid called up to him, but the child only scooted away from her, and let go. The maid screamed dove forward, barely catching the child as he fell, letting out a strangled gasp of relief.
I snapped out of my frozen state and ran forward, scooping the boy up to carry him to my office, there i would have a better set up to examine the boy and try to find a reason for this strange behavior. I kicked the door open, making my assistant jump up in a panic. in my adrenaline fueled rush i yelled something at her as i ran in, holding the squirming boy against me as i scurried into my exam room.
The room was small, only having three shelves over a tiny sink against the wall next to a door, and a medium sized cabinet that stood against the opposite wall with tools and medicine in it. I set Mark down on the small medical bed that was donated to me, and i backed up as he began to cry and fight at nothing.
"Leave me alone! they're stuck! I hurt!!!" Mark cried, trying to claw at his back as if something was crawling on it.
I tried soothing the boy, but i was interrupted by Tobias bursting into the room. The boy crawled behind Mark on the small bed, smashing onto the boys back, what occurred next made Anna faint and left me slack-jawed.Sadly, it is too late in the night for me to continue this, i will complete it tomorrow if i have nothing else to do. Goodnight.
