I trudged my way back to my apartment to find my best friend still sleeping on the couch. I wanted to slam the door really loudly, but I couldn't muster up the strength to deal with the consequences of it. I quietly closed the door behind me and locked it. I thought I might make some breakfast for her, after all, she needs as much food as she can get. She needs all the strength she can get after the heart wrenching break up she just went through.

I looked through the fridge to see what I could find- hmm, looks like I need to go grocery shopping today.

I found some pancake mix and choc chips. I mixed them together and made her favourite. I made a big batch as I was starving as well. It was 8 o'clock by the time I finished.

I could hear her stirring in her covers.

I turned around to the fridge and got out a carton of juice.

I turned to set it on the table and saw she was already at the table-damn, she was quick.

"Morning Sunshine," I said as I was getting glasses from the cupboard.

"Hey, Si. Do you need any help with anything?"

"Um, sure. Could you get the plates and cutlery out?" I asked. I knew she wanted to do something. I went through the same situation as her. You always want to do something, just to get yourself from wallowing in your own thoughts and flashbacks.

We sat down at the table; I needed to start a conversation fast.

"How you feeling Andy?" She just shrugged her shoulders in reply- okay, stay away from that question.

"Oh, you wouldn't believe it," this engaged her attention. "I went out for a little stroll this morning and met this really cute guy." She was looking at me and cutting her pancakes wanting to know the details.

"How did you meet?" Andy asked before shoving a forkful of pancake in her mouth.

"Well, I was sitting on the bench and there was a book next to me. I thought someone had abandoned it or something, and so I started reading. I had just finished reading the first chapter when he came up to me and said that, that was his book I was reading," I told her the whole conversation, and maybe adding a few more false details here and there to drag it out. I described to her what he looked like, she just drank it all in. And then I told her that I forgot to ask for his number.

She shot daggers at me for not getting it- if looks could kill.

"What are you doing today?" she asked after she gulped down her juice.

"Grocery shopping," I said with the lack of excitement in my voice.

"Wanna come?" I asked hopefully.

"I have work, remember?"

"Oh, right. What time?"

She glanced up at the clock,

"Oh shoot, in an hour! I have to get ready," She got out of her seat and I heard her rushing around the house like a mad man- at least she's not thinking about her ex, Brian. Total jerk, that one.

She was out the door within twenty minutes, her dark brown hair flowing behind her.

"Bye, love you. Be back by five!" And with that, she was out the door.

I started cleaning up everything. After that, I got ready to go shopping. I slipped on a pair of jeans, uggboots and a blue hoodie that covered my chocolate coloured arms. I put on some light make up and brushed my long black hair. I looked at the ends of my hair, they were a bright red, I didn't know if I liked them of not. But I was too poor to get it chopped off.

I walked out of my door and headed for the nearest Woolworths.

As I checked things off my shopping trolley, I accidentally bumped into someone.

"Oh, so sorry!" I exclaimed.

"No, it's cool. I wasn't watching where I was going," he mumbled. He looked familiar, I couldn't tell by the sunglasses covering his eyes, but the oversized hoodie, that smile...

"Oh hey, you’re the guy with the book this morning!" I said. He turned back to look at me. Another smile formed on his face.

"How'd you guess?" he asked curiously, obviously referring to him wearing the sunglasses.

"You're smile," I said straight out without thinking- yeah, real smooth Sienna. "I mean, um, the hoodie, I recognized it." I quickly said, covering up my little embarrassment. He chuckled, I hope he didn't hear what I said.

"Did you say 'my smile' at first?" he asked cheekily.

"Um, no!" I looked at the floor and gave into his stare "Okay, maybe." He just chuckled. We looked at each other again, silent, like we did this morning, and I'm sure it was comfortable on both ends this time.

"Hey, I was wondering if you'd wanna catch a movie tonight?" He asked, shyly.

"I don't even know your name!"

"It's Niall by the way, just incase if you were wondering," giving me wink.

"Sienna, you can call me," Oh, Sienna, you might as well paint yourself green and start learning the Jedi ways. He laughed at the little reference.

"What's your number?" I asked, pulling out my phone from my pocket.

"Here, exchange?"

He gave me his phone, while I gave him mine. I put my number and took a photo of myself. Contact added. Niall did the same thing.

"Exchange back?" We said in unison. We laughed at this, and then he started telling me little stories about his friends and how they were traveling. I caught on to a few of his words, he has an accent! I think it's Irish - God, Sienna, you're so oblivious to everything.

"You're Irish, aren't you?" I asked, knowing the answer.

"Yes, yes I am. What nationality are you?"

"Sri Lankan, Sinhalese. We beat India in the cricket!" I fist pumped in the air, causing him to laugh his adorable laugh.

"The British team are going down hill, aren't they?" said Niall.

"Yeah, like they got beaten by Ireland, no offense,"

"We have a team?" Niall asked, surprisingly- no offense taken there then. I nodded while I was giggling.

"Well, I should really finish shopping,"

"Oh," I think his head drooped a little, I think!

"Bye!"

"Bye!" and he pulled me into a hug- mmhm, he smells good, wait, why are you smelling him?

He walked off, and again, I watched him walk away. He turned back to look at me, and grinned that heart-melting smile of his.

I quickly texted him a 'Yes, xx'

He immediately replied back 'See you tonight lovely! :) xx'

I noticed that I had butterflies after he left, because then, I felt them die down. I quickly finished my shopping and loaded the groceries into the car.
