Life Guard s.m.

Chapter One

I was on the couch with star, watching Netflix on my laptop. Star is 5 months old and a golden retriever. Cuddle sessions with her are the best. I was chilling with her before I had to go to work. Working at an ice cream place isn't the most exciting thing ever, but it will have to do before I can get my dream career going.

I would love to be a singer. I love song writing and playing the guitar. Being noticed for my music is my dream since I was able to talk and walk. My dream never seemed to come true though.

After an hour of watching Netflix with Star, I decided it was time to get ready. I got up and took a quick shower. I blowed dried my hair and put it in a messed up ponytail. I put on a random black shirt and a pair of white ripped shorts. After looking for my vans for 5 minutes I finally found them under my bed. I quickly put them on and grabbed a bagel. I grabbed my keys and made my way to my small car. It was a 2016 mini cooper. Then I was on my way into the famous city of LA.

The ice cream shop was about 5 minutes away from my small apartment. Ice Cream Point is what it's called. Pretty basic and "tumblr" as kids call it nowadays. It was a fun and colorful shop. Just like this city. LA is a beautiful place to live in. You feel free, and I love that feeling.

When I finally got to the ice cream shop I quickly made my way inside. My shift starts at 9 am. It was currently 8:57. Luckily I made it in time. I quickly clocked in. I went to the back and grabbed my apron and hat and made my way to the counter where all the ice cream was. My friend Stephen, was luckily working with me today. We got along well and he was my only friend at work. A few customers came in and I welcomed them. They ordered their ice cream and I served it to them in a cup. I gave them a polite smile after they paid and they left.

That day was filled with random jokes from Stephen and I. The day passed by rather quickly. Before I knew it it was almost 6 pm. When my shift was finally over I clocked out. I made my way back to my car. When I was finally back at my apartment Star jumped on me as I opened the door. I started laughing and I carried her. I gave her some food and water and made my way upstairs.

As I was halfway up the stairs I heard my friend, Kelsey calls my name. Kelsey is my roommate and my best friend. "What!" I called out. "How was work?" She asked. "It was okay, pretty boring," I said making my way into her room. "Any cute guys?" Typical Kelsey. "No Kelsey, I don't find every guy attractive like someone I know." She gasped "Wow I am hurt." I laughed. "Luna, how are you still single?" Kelsey asked. "I don't know, I just don't want to rush into something I don't feel comfortable in. I also haven't found the right guy." I shrugged. I wasn't really a flirty girl or anything. I've never had my first kiss or boyfriend for that matter.

"Well Luna, how about that guy from work? What was his name Steve or something." I laughed.

"His name is Stephen! Oh no Stephen and I are just friends." She nodded. Kelsey worries too much about my love life. I mean she doesn't have anything to worry about. She is gorgeous! She has long brown hair, beautiful green shining eyes, and the sweetest smile ever. She has a perfect body too. She was also very confident. I, on the other hand, am very insecure.

I said good bye to Kelsey and made my way to my room. Star followed behind me and she jumped on my bed. I made my way to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and hair. I washed my face and dried it. I changed into some shorts, a long T-shirt. I grabbed my phone from my counter and made my way to my bed. Star laid next to me and I opened my phone and went to Instagram. All I saw were people at the beach having fun during the summer.

It was June and I haven't been to the beach yet. I decided that tomorrow I would go with Star since it was my day off. I got up and went to my closet to get some stuff ready. I grabbed a bag and put a towel, sunscreen, and my sunglasses in it. I took out my sandals and 2 piece swimsuit and laid it out on my counter. I went back to my bed and grabbed my lap top.

I started watching Netflix. After a while, I started getting hungry so I went down stairs. I grabbed a bag of chips and a water bottle and went back upstairs. I decided to stop watching Netflix and I grabbed my headphones and plugged them into my phone. I started listening to some music.

After about an hour of laying down and listening to music while staring at my ceiling, I stood up and made my way to my counter. I grabbed my song writing journal and started writing. I grabbed my guitar and started playing.

I heard a knock on the door and I quickly made my way to the door. Kelsey was standing there and I smiled at her.

"What's up?"

"I want to hear your song!" She shrugged.

I grabbed my electric guitar and started playing. After I finished I looked at her and she said "Wow Luna! That was great. You should really try out for something!" I shrugged "Thanks, I guess." I was getting tired and I looked at my phone and it was 10. I was tired so I pushed Kelsey out of my room. I made my way to my bed, hugged Star, and drifted off to sleep.
