Today was a very slow day at the shop. Slower than usual. I mean what do you expect on Mondays.

There was a new girl that I had to help out. Her name is Astrid. I showed her everything she needed to know. She told me a lot about herself, and she was very cool.

She is a blonde with blue eyes. The complete opposite of me. I found out she just moved to California from Arizona about a month ago.

She loves horse back riding. She owns a horse named Ollie and she loves the horse to death. She brought Ollie with her because she couldn't let him stay. She also takes dressage lessons.

Astrid also loved music, something we had in common. I found out she played the piano and the flute.

I told her about me, and how I also played the piano. I told her about me singing and playing the guitar.

We became good friends right away. I loved the fact of having someone else to talk to that wasn't Stephen.

Astrid gave me her number and I gave her mine.

"Hey Luna, would you want to go see my dressage lessons after work?" Astrid asked

"Sure I don't have anything else to do. Unless you count me laying in bed watching Netflix for the rest of the day."

She laughed, "Great! It is at 7, so an hour after we get out of work. I could pick you up if you want?"

"Sure, I'll send you my address!"

"Okay!"

We went back to work and after twenty minutes it was our lunch break.

The rest of the day consisted on Astrid and I talking about random stuff and laughing.

After about what felt like forever, it was finally time to go home.

"So I'll text you my address, Astrid."

"Yes, and I will text you when I am on my way to pick you up!"

"Okay, see you in a bit."

I walked to my car and texted Astrid my address. Turns out she lived about 3 minutes away from my apartment. I smiled and made my way back home.

When I finally got home I threw my keys on a table. I made my way upstairs and shouted Kelsey's name.

"What!"

"Nothing just wanted to see if you were home!"

"Okay!"

I went into my room and changed. I put on some shorts and a big T-shirt. I put on a pair of vans and put my hair into a ponytail. I brushed my teeth and washed my face.

Star was on my bed so I sat next to her and scrolled through Instagram.

I still only saw people at the beach and having fun. I remembered last week when I went. It was fun and that life guard was hot. What am I thinking I'm not this type of girl.

I shook my head and laughed. I received a text from Astrid that she was here. I got my small backpack and went out my door.

"I'm going out Kels, see you later!"

"K!"

I made my way out and found Astrid's car. It was a black Tacoma. I got into her car quickly.

"Thanks for picking me up!"

"No problem. Thanks for coming!"

"You're welcome. So is it far?"

"Nope, it's about a ten-minute drive. You want to put some music?" I nodded and she passed me aux cord.

I put on Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons.

"Yesssssss!" Astrid screeched

I laughed and continued singing along. We got to her lessons and got out. Astrid got her helmet from the back of her car.

We made our way towards the barn. I looked around and saw so many horses. I was shocked, there were so many. Astrid seemed to notice and she laughed.

"Yeah, they have a lot of horses."
"I can see."

"Come on I'll show you Ollie!"

I followed her to the back and she opened one of the stalls.

"Luna, this is Ollie. Ollie, this is Luna." I smiled and started running my hand over his back.

"Hey Ollie, you are gorgeous!" Astrid started walking him out of his stall. She cleaned him up and set up all the gear. I was very confused with some of it, other things I picked up. She explained more stuff to me and I understood more.

She finished about ten minutes later.

"You want some water while I go ride around and practice?"

"Yes please." She went into this room and came back with two water bottles in her hand. She handed them to me and I thanked her.

"I will practice for thirty minutes. If you want you can watch me or you can look at the horses."

I smiled and nodded, "I'll do both."
Astrid nodded. She got on Ollie and she went to practice. I stood up and started walking around. It was very hot but I didn't mind.

I looked around at all the horses. I came up to a horse with two different colored eyes. I looked at her name on the paper. "Olivia," I said. She was beautiful.

I finally got to the last stall. I looked inside and saw a jet black colored horse. His name read Romeo. He was the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. His mane was long. He was beautiful.

"Hey, Romeo," I said while petting his head. I walked back to the table I was sitting at. I watched Astrid and she was great.

Ten minutes later she finished and made her way back. She got off of Ollie and scraped the bottom of his hoof. She let his foot drop and he stomped on her foot.

"Ow Ollie!" I laughed.

"You okay?" I said while laughing.

"Yeah." She started laughing too.

"Astrid that was amazing! You have talent."

"Thank you so much, I am glad you liked it!"

"No problem."

"So did you look around at the horses?" I nodded

"Do you have a favorite?"

"Yup, Romeo."

"Aw, he is a sweetheart. I feel bad for him because his owners never walk him around or clean him."

"Oh no, that's not good."

"Yeah." Astrid sighed, "Sadly there isn't much we can do about it."

"Poor Romeo."

"Yeah. You want me to drop you off or you want to do something else?"

"You want to grab some tea? I know this really good tea place near here. My treat!"

"Sure, let's go." We went back to her car and drove to the tea place.

We parked outside the shop and walked inside.

"I recommend the peach tea with strawberry popping pearls," I told Astrid.

"Okay, then I'll get that," I ordered our drinks and we sat down.

"Today was really fun, thanks for showing me this Astrid."

"It was no problem. You are actually my first friend here."

"Really! I feel honored." I said while laughing.

"Yeah, you should be." Astrid played along. They called our names and I stood up to get our drinks.

"Thanks!"

"No problem."

"I can tell we are going to be friends for a long time," Astrid said.

We drank our tea and I smiled, "I think so too."
