Belle ran into the room that the Beast made for her and she ran to her bed and cried herself to sleep. When she awoke she saw the beauty of the room and saw all the books on a bookshelf "My this place is magnificent! Look at all these books, someone's hoping I won't get bored"
She thought back to her fathers words "He will certainly kill anyone who goes there"
Belle thought to herself "If he was going to eat me alive why would he have made me such a beautiful room, maybe he isn't going to hurt me."
Belle didn't realise that the beast had walked in the Beast coughed and Belle jumped at the sound of his voice "My lady, apologies I did not mean to startle you, will you please dine with me? I have breakfast laid for us both; I did not know what you would like so I am afraid that there is a lot of it."
"I am your prisoner, aren't I" Belle questioned she was unsure whether she was ever going to see her father again.
"No!" The Beast snapped "Not at all, but you must stay here, you cannot leave, please come eat with me, you must be starved."
"I'm not hungry." Belle wanted food but wouldn't have it until he was honest with her.
"I must insist you eat, I have made it all myself." he told her "Then I will show you the present I have for you." he told her, he was honest.
"I will come and eat with you" she told him "But I do not need presents from you." She missed her family too much to even think about what he has for her.
They sat and ate for a while in silence "Tell me do you find me very cruel?" The beast broke the silence.
Belle thought about the question for a little while, she could see that the beast was growing impatient "Yes I do" she started to say, she saw that his face hadn't changed "I cannot tell lies, but I do think there is something interesting about you." He looked confused "I have never met anyone not able to be cruel at some point in their lives."
The beast knew he was cruel "Your right." He told her "but in addition to being cruel, I also lack intelligence. I know very well that I am." He paused "A beast"
Belle hated hearing people hate on themselves "you cannot be a beast if you know you lack intelligence, a fool never believes that he is stupid."
The beas t saw the beauty within belle "You're very beautiful dear belle and no one has ever spoken to me the way you have this day." He told her "I have been very lonely these last few years, you have no idea how it makes me feel to have your conversation this morning."
"Is that why I cannot leave?" Belle asked the question that was bugging her, she saw the beasts face drop
"I cannot answer that, and. I cannot tell you why. I am very glad you are here though" he told her, he was honest about it as well, he was being honest with her, something he was not used to.
The tension rose again and Belle became overwhelmed with the beauty of the dining room, she doesn't speak for a while and the Beast watched her and takes pleasure in her amazement. "You're being very kind" she told him "I am surprised when you think of it you no longer seem cruel to me."
"Oh of course I have a tender heart but I am still. A monster."
Belle hated hearing people talk so low of themselves, even though he isn't the kindest man she has ever met "There are certainly more monstrous men and women than you." She told him "I know that first hand, maybe all you need is company sir, you seem so alone here."
"If I was an intelligent man I would pay you a fine compliment but I am stupid, all I can say is that I am very much obliged. beauty can I ask you a question?"
"Yes, of course?" He questioned her and she sounded puzzled
"Do you think you could ever love and marry me?"
Belle was shocked "No beast. I do not, you have been kind, but you are keeping me here as a prisoner and I do not understand why." She told him.
