Song of the Chapter: Make Me Cry (Marshmello Remix)~ Noah Cyrus
---"Four hundred years ago, there was a prophecy between the Shalens and the Adachians. It stated that there was going to be a boy, born from one Shalen, from the line of the Shalen queen, and one Adachian, from the line of the Adachian king. He was destined to take over the Adachian's side of the planet and wipe out the whole existence of the Shalens. If you didn't know, the Shalens and the Adachians hate each other to the point they were about to start a war. They were going to call it 'Neptune's War'.
"But this somehow united them. My birth united them. I lived for three years on Neptune before they found out I was the child. On Neptune, there is a no "killing policy." So they threw everything at me that could get me killed.
"At 4, I was put into military school. Five, archery and sword combat camp. 6, I went to fight in another galaxy against the Teris'. 7, they taught me how to fly a spaceship. They threw all that stuff at me—and I hated it all. But, it was the only way to be close to my parents.
"My parents of course knew about all of this. So when I was 4, before I started military school, they gave me a bracelet. It was a dark blue bracelet with light green gemstones in it. They said it was protection. They said the leaders never told me something. I had powers. Nobody on that planet had powers but me. The bracelet— is from a plant called Clorus. One of the most powerful plants known to existence. Only found in the gardens of Claredot. This bracelet had the power to activate my powers. My mother always told me, "Only use it when you need it. Never give it to anyone, not even your father and me."
"Finally, at age 9, the age you are accepted into the planet as a real citizen, and can start your education, they finally had it. They came to my house—unlocked the door and placed a bomb underneath the doorstep. The next person who stepped on it, they would die. I was supposed to come home from the ceremony that day, but I was caught up with an old friend. My parents went to the old market."
"I was trailing right behind them. I saw my parents open the door, and... they were gone. Lifeless. Dead. I was fueled with anger. I, I-I was—"
"I was so angry. Fueled with anger. I wanted to get as far away from the planet I could. At night, I snuck into the vehicle transportation office, stole a spaceship and flew towards the sun. Behind the sun was Claredot. I wanted to find out more about my powers. I thought maybe I could get my parents back. Of course, I forgot about the gas and I lost the engines.
I went spiraling down into Earth. My plane crashed. I managed to make it to a gate of a huge house. And I fell unconscious. My step-parents found me and adopted me. My stepmom was already pregnant with Loretta at the time. They treated me like royalty for about six months. I kinda hated it, but it was kinda fun being part of a family again."
At this moment, my face is soaked from my tears. Rachel is softly patting my back, and I see a tear fall down her cheek.
"The bracelet... can I see it?" Rachel asks slowly.
I wipe my tears with my sleeve and take out the bracelet form my pocket. The gems are glistening and sparkling brighter than last time. I'm about to give it to her when I stop. Never give it to anyone... My mother's word repeats in my head.
"I'm really really sorry about not telling you about this."
"All is forgiven." She smirks.
"But to be fair, you never asked." She slaps my shoulder.
I toss the bracelet to her.She spins the bracelet around in her fingers. "What's the closest planet to Claredot other than the sun?"
"Mercury." Our fingers brush against each other's and the world suddenly turns black.
