Chapter 13

The next morning...

I woke up to my phone ringing. It was Ashley. Who else would be calling so early in the morning?!

*Phone conversation*

Danica: Hey

Ashley: Danica! You won't believe what just happened!

Danica: Tell me and you'll know it!

Ashley: Well I just got a date with Ashton!

Danica: That's awesome! I'm so happy for you girl!

Ashley: Thank you! Well, that's everything I wanted to tell you! So, bye!

Danica: Bye!

*End of phone conversation*

I hung up and put my phone on the night stand. Then my eye hit the clock. 5am! This girl is crazy! But I love her! I then tried to fall asleep again but failed. I just took my phone and played on it, while waiting for everyone to wake up.

Three hours later...

Finally I heard something from downstairs and got up quietly. "Good morning dad!" I said and hugged him. "Morning baby girl!" he said. "What are you doing up so early?" he asked. "Ashley called me at 5am!" I said. Dad just laughed. I shook my head, smiling. "How was your date with mom?" I asked. "It was... fine." he said. Somehting seemed strange... "Just fine?" I asked. He nodded. "What happened?" I asked. Something just didn't seem right. "Let's talk about something else!" dad said. "But I first want to know, what happened last night!" I said, crossing my arms. "Sweetie, I love you but please don't be stubborn! It's nothing you have to know!" he yelled. "Then don't tell me!" I said and stomped back to my room. I'm going to find out what happened, whether he likes me to know it or not!

A few hours later...

"Hey mom." I said as she walked into my room. "Hey sweetie!" she said. "Mom, can I ask you something?" I asked. "You can ask and tell me everything, you know that." she said. "Okay... What happened last night?" I asked. "W-Why are you asking?" she asked and stuttered a bit. "I was talking to dad this morning and asked him about your date from last night. He said that it was fine and I asked 'Just fine?'. He then just said that he couldn't tell me!" I said. "Sweetie, it's just that I really can't tell you! He will hate me and you will hate him!" she said. "Mom we both know that I would never hate him!" I said.

This went on and on... "Danica please just stop this. I won't tell you and that's it." she said. "Please mom! You can't keep it a secret from me forever!" I said. "I know how much you want to know it and I think you have the right to know it but your dad..." she said. "I promise he won't find out!" I said. Mom bit her lip with a confused look. "I'll tell you." she said. "Thank you!" I said. "Last night we were at a restaurant. There also was Jess, an ex of your dad. She was our waitress. When she came to our table she immediately recognized James. She asked 'James? Is it you?' and your dad just asked back 'Yes and may I ask who you are?'. Then she just slapped him across his face. 'What was that for?!' he asked and cupped his cheek. Then she gave him kind of a death glare and yelled 'Who I am?! I'm the mother of your child, who you left when it was born!'. I was just shocked. I mean first I thought she was just going crazy or something but then James said 'Jess!?' and I knew it was true. Your dad had a child and never told us. He's probably in his twenties now. Over all the years I thought that we'd never keep a secret from each other but he did." mom finished. "But why did he never tell us?" I asked. "Maybe he thought that we would be mad or something like that and yes I am mad. But not because he has another child! Because he kept a secret from me..." she said and started to cry. "I can't believe this!" I said.
