He sat there fiddling with his hands. "So..." I started, expecting for him to snap up and look at me. He didn't.

"Luke?" He stared down at the cup of water in front of him. I sighed and ran my hand through my unruly hair. "Hey, I'm trying to help you here, alright?" This got his attention. "What're you doing here?"

"I don't know." Luke murmured. At least we were getting somewhere.

"Why are you here?" I asked the question I could tell he was dreading to answer.

"I-I don't know," he repeated. I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms, giving him an accusing look. "I'm running."

"From who?" I pried.

"The cops?" Luke said but it sounded more like a question.

"Oh," I sighed dramatically. "I get it, you don't want to tell me because you don't trust me. After all, I only lied to the cops and humiliated myself to hide you, no biggie. Not like I expected-"

"My mom." Luke interrupted.

"Your mom?" I narrowed my eyes. "What about her?"

"She-" he stopped, choking on his words. Luke's eyes darted around the room and started hyperventilating. He gripped the table so hard I could visibly see the water in the cup shaking. I reached across the table and grazed his hand. Luke quickly flinched and fell off the wooden stool.

"Shit, Luke!" I called out. "Are you alright?" I stood up to lean over and check on him. Within the time span of falling and me getting up, Luke managed to curl up into a ball, as if he was trying to hide in defence. He was still struggling to breathe so I ran out the back door. I grabbed the hose and yanked it with me inside. I pressed the trigger but nothing came out. Goddammit, the door's stopping the flow of the water! What is my life. I shoved the fallen stool in between the door and sprayed Luke, who uncurled to see what my crazy ass was doing.

He spastically rolled around flailing his long legs. Luke knocked over my feet, and I shrieked.

The hose continued to spray all over Luke and I. He began coughing and beating his chest.

"Are you choking?! Dumb question." I scrambled up but slipped on the water, landing on something. Luke cried out in pain and pulled his hand out from under me, clutching it.

"Luke I am so sorry!" I gasped. His eyes widened as he coughed. "Oh right!"

I carefully crawled to him trying not to fall on my face, or even worse, his face. I positioned myself to straddle him. "Don't be alarmed, I'm going to give you CPR. Don't worry, I've seen it done in movies."

Luke frantically shook his head. "You're turning blue!" I panicked. I started pounding on his chest. The force made Luke propel slightly off the ground, making his head collide with mine. We both groaned and I rolled off of him, nursing the forming bruise on my head. Great, there goes some of my nonexistent brain cells.

"Lucy?" The door to the shop swung open, whacking Luke's side. Calum came barging in but slipped on the water, toppling backwards.

"Calum!" I screeched as he collapsed across Luke's stomach. Water spurted out of Luke's mouth and onto Calum's face. I hid behind my hands, not wanting to witness the disaster I started. In barnacles Lucy, what have you done?

He sat there fiddling with his hands. Well, hand. Well, bandaged hand. His good hand was holding an ice pack to his forehead.

"So..." I once again started awkwardly. Calum was staring intently at Luke with his arms crossed.

"Calum, this is Luke. Luke, Calum."
