Filler chapter;
Kyra's POV:
January 21st, 2017
I had been driving for about four hours until we came to a stop. We found gas cans and filled up our tanks, then we went straight back to driving. A few words were spoken between Liam and I, but he was so busy with Chancey, and I with Billy, that we didn't speak to much.
I was thankful for that because I was at a loss for words. The drive gave me time to think a lot, and the only thing that was on my mind was my parents. The years I spent with them meant so much to me, then I graduated and moved straight to New York, leaving them.
I felt so horrible about myself that I could just up and leave my parents, but I knew they wanted me to become something better than what I was.
We were about six hours away from Michigan and we didn't know what we were going to be getting ourselves into.
Thomas knew where this science facility was, but he said it may be difficult to get inside. I would do anything possible to find a way to make sure we all stay safe.
In hopes of finding a cure, I would move mountains if I could just so everyone could be saved. I knew a lot of people already lost their lives because of this disease, but it was worth a shot to save everyone who was still battling it.
I knew after all of this was over that I wanted to talk to Liam about everything because right now we have tried fitting in romance in something so traumatic, and it has blown up in our faces each time.
"What are you thinking about?" Thomas asked.
"Same as always," I said.
"Liam?" He asked. "You know, just because the world is a fucked up place, doesn't mean two people can't fall in love." He said.
"I know but everything seems to be standing in our way. One minute everything is fine, the next minute we don't even speak." I said.
"Everything will blow over, but for now let's focus on finding this lab safetly," Thomas said.
I sat quietly with my hands on the steering wheel, I couldn't argue with what he said because I was more than ready for this to be over.
