Chapter 2: South Side Romantics

JUGHEAD'S POV

My alarm rings and it's 5:00 A.M. I look over to my left and I see Grace. We only got 3 hours of sleep, so I thought I would just pretend to be asleep and let er "wake up first". She groaned so I closed my eyes fast. She got up slowly, stopped my alarm, and woke me up. "Jughead, wake upp." I heard her soft, raspy voice say. I raised and stretched my arms out. "We only got 3 hours of sleep, are you tired at all?" She shrugged, "I don't mind it, I just drink coffee to wake me up. I would usually go to school with 0 hours of sleep. I would get at least 2 minutes of sleep because of my parents." I guess I knew how she felt. I mean, after my mom and Jellybean left, alley dad did was make my life hell. That's why I would just live at the drive in. But since my home got shut down by Hiram Lodge, I lived at school. The closet under the stairs wasn't very comfortable. Then when Archie found out, it was like a load of weight just was, lifted. Living at Archie's was more better than everything. "Seriously, you seem so fucking strong. I broke down and cried when my dad got arrested. It almost seems like your not bothered by your tragic life. I wish mine didn't bother me." I grabbed my phone and there were 20 messages from Betty..

Betty: Jug.

Betty: Juggie,you need to answer.

Betty: Jughead Jones, please.

And she repeated to say my name constantly. "So, I we have to get ready and go somewhere before school. I'll tell why later, just you take a shower first and get ready first." She tilted her head, "Ok?" She got her shower stuff and headed off to the bathroom.

~HALF AN HOUR LATER~

GRACE'S POV

I was drying my hair, wrapped in a towel. My hair was almost dry and I hear the door open. It was Jughead. "We only have a couple minutes left so, I'm going to get ready too. Only if it's ok with you though." I nodded my head and made room for him. My hair was finally dried, but now I had to put clothes on. I just stepped in the shower and changed. I walked out to see Jughead shirtless so I blushed and ran out. I put my converse on and packed my bag. He ran out the bathroom and got his hat. "Alright let's go."

~ IN THE CAR ~

"So, I have a girlfriend named Betty. She was nonstop texting me last night and so we arguing to stop by her house quickly and see whats up." I raised my eyebrow in confusion. I never could have guessed he had a girlfriend. "Betty, huh? How long have you guys been dating?" As he pulled in, he said, " A couple weeks, butte's mad because joined the "South Side Serpents" which is biker gang that causes a lot of trouble here." I Got out of the car and I seemed a little nervous. "Betty isn't going to be mad at me, is she?" He laughed, "Pshhh, she won't. Just don't tell her about the cuddling thing (; ." I flushed in embarrassment and nodded. He knocked on Betty's door and she answered right away. "JUGHEAD!" She jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly. Made me a little bit guilty and jealous because i did that same thing yesterday. "Ok, so it's really important about your school, and who's this?" "I'm new here. Name's Grace." She put out her hand and I shaked her hand. " What school you going to?" "South side." She was surprised. "Have Jug protect you. That place is full of crime." I nodded and looked at my phone. "Jughead, we should probably get going soon. But have Betty tell you what she wanted to tell you." She nodded and turned toJughead. "You guy's school was threatened to be shot up. So was ours. The school bored couldn't find out who had made the threat, but everyone is just staying in the gym until lunch. Then we go back in." I thought my town was filled with crime. I've dealt with this situation before but, it's super scary. "You guys, stick together ok? Don't spilt up. even if you have to go the bathroom. Haha, but I'll be fine because I'm staying with Kevin. You guys can go now. Wouldn't want you guys to be late." Jughead nodded and kissed her goodbye, and we got into the car.

~AT SCHOOL~

JUGHEAD'S POV 

Everybody was staring at us. Mostly the guys were whistling at Grace. Which really made me mad  because she was new here and they were acting like they were "so nice". "These idiots are making me uncomfortable. I know they really aren't this "romantic" because my mom went here." "No kidding," I said with a giggle. "These people are the kinds of people MURDER people. People like Jason." We entered the gym and continued to tell her the tale of Jason Blossm's death. "Oh my god, your town sounds way too similar to mine. But, I have nowhere else to go so I'm stuck here." While we where walking, some douchebag decided to slap Grace's ass. She screamed, "WHAT THE HELL DUMBASS!" Everybody started laughing and slapping each others  backs. This so called, "Dumbass" was Mustang's son. Mustang had over dosed on Heroin in a bathtub. He causes even more trouble than his dad did. I ran up to him and said, "What the hell dude? Why the fuck would you do that?" "What are YOU gonna do Jones? You gonna kill me like your dad?" I punched him in the mouth and he punch me back. He kept punching harder and harder until I blacked out..
