Elevator E.D

Two

We finally came to a stop after falling for a few seconds.

By now my heart was beating out of my chest and my breathing was out of control.

We were all on the floor due to the aggressive drop.

My hand was placed on my chest and my other, placed on the floor to hold me up.

I took a glance at the floor number we were on but it seemed to be malfunctioning.

"Calm down K, we're ok. We're gonna be fine I promise."

I took in Elizabeth's words and nodded.

I groaned as I tried to stand because I felt a huge pain in my lower back.

"Maybe you should sit down" the guy that first got on suggested.

"No I'm fine." I said politely but the pain quickly shot through my spine and I almost fell.

The guy quickly wrapped his arm around my waist though to prevent me from doing so.

"Thank you" I said as he helped me sit back down.

he simply nodded and sat down too, a little closer than he was originally.

"Can someone please just hit the emergency button already" the woman with the overpowering perfume slightly yelled.

Since Elizabeth was closest, she hit the button.

Soon after, a voice came over the small speaker that sat in the top corner of the elevator.

"Ladies and gentlemen. We have noticed that the elevator has dropped more than thirteen stories. We are trying our best to figure out a way to get you back up without ripping the cables. The cables were slightly shredded from the fall and are very fragile at the moment. We don't know how long it will take but we will try our best."

Now was the time to panic.
