mays pov

i walk into the funeral home while holding ethan's hand.

i walk into the first room where there is a slideshow playing of pictures of my father.

i watched it many of times tearing up a little more each time.

then, i walked into the room where my fathers ashes are.

i was the only family member there other than my aunt.

"go ahead and sit down." i said to ethan.

he sat down while i went to the front with my aunt so people that i didn't even know hug me.

it was speech time so i went first.

"hello everyone. thank you for all coming. i really don't want to cry up here but we all know that's probably not gonna happen. my father was the nicest man ever. he believed in me when no one else didn't. he always found the positive in the negative. i love him so much."

i patted the box with his ashes on them and walked to the seat down to ethan.
