ACT I
(The stage is dim, and while the narrator talks, Maggie slowly makes her way on stage, currently breaking the 4th wall and observing the audience. A grave is onstage with Maggie's name, showing the date of death as "UNKNOWN".)
Narrator: Tonight, the story that is about to unfold will be observing the life of a Miss Margaret O'Flaherty-
Maggie: Whoa, that's me! But I prefer O'Malley, cause that was my mother's name-
Narrator: -and the tale of her painful death.
Maggie: ... Man, my dreams are getting really vivid.
Narrator: (Music intro begins, the stage sets up for the island) Our adventure begins here, at the island of Ireland, where young Margaret grew up. This is an island exclusively for rebellion. The rules here: there are no rules. Chaos and drinking are common, and the ports are littered with pirate ships. Until one day, a stranger to the tides invaded their ports- England's army wanted to take over the island.
Maggie: But that thing happened forever ago-
Guard 1: Oy! Land ahoy! Time to hoist up the sails and then get to the noble's land, get them to understand, this land is now our land and-
Pirate 1: Oy! Sailors ahoy! Soldiers are starting to dock and they're coming with gun and gold, trying to take a hold of our capitol-
Grace: Don't let them take the whole island is ours and they're charging and by the stars, we won't let them take it: We are the pirates of seas and the oceans so show them a good fight, it's going down tonight! Fight!
Pirates and Guards: Fight them! 'Till the end! Fight fight fight!
(The music slows, the stage dims and fog fills the stage. The echoes of mysterious footsteps scare everyone but Grace, and she starts to search for him.)
Pirates: Fears behold here he comes! Terror reigns! He's back for blood, the ocean's nightmare-
(Richard Bingham's outline stands before everyone, and they all kneel in defeat but Grace.)
Pirate 2: How will we ever live here? Please... help... us... stronger...
Pirate 1: Danger takes a hold... on... us... stronger...
Grace: Trust me, we just have to be stronger.
Pirates and Grace: They'll never get to us-
Grace: Here!
Pirates Grace: Let's see how much they like-
Grace: Fear!
Pirates and Grace: They'll have to get through me!
Pirate 1: They'll have to fight me!
Pirate 2: They've gotta bite me!
Pirates and Grace: They won't take over me!
Grace: I will be free.
Narrator: The island's war ended in no change of ownership, but both parties feared the wrath of the devil at sea, Richard Bingham. That day, Grace O'Malley swore to confront him.
Grace: 'Till then...
Narrator: The island still thrives to this current day- ...roughly the year of 1596. Grace O'Malley fought to protect the island, with her father's ships as well as the ones inherited from her passed husband. The nine years war begins and the end is soon. Eventually Margaret grew up to become just like her mother- a pirate who sailed the seas.
