drabble #1 for lyss because of her love for jelsa and all her wonderful support
jack had been sitting there for hours. she was asleep, her hands folded gently over her torso. jack's lips pulled into a smile as he leaned closer. she was so beautiful. his eyes roamed over her face, the gentle rest of her eyelids, the soft curve of her nose, the rosiness of her cheeks, and then to her soft red lips. he was mesmerized. he began to lean in, closer, and closer, his lips just a breath away. did he want to risk it?
elsa sighed, eyes still shut. her lips pursed together, her tongue sneaking out to dry her lips. the simple action shook jack to the core. his eyes roved over her features again, the tempation burning within him
and then she opened her eyes. they were slightly dazed at first, the blur of sleep misting her vision. her blue eyes squinted, trying to adjust to the morning light that glistened off the crystal walls. she blinked several more times, her hands reaching up and rubbing her eyelids.
all the while, jack held his breath. he could hear his heart thumping loudly in his ears, joining the pounding in his head that made it hard to think; made it hard to react. he couldn't move, his whole posture stiffened, the ridges of them hardening. he didn't know what to do.
elsa sat up, letting out a yawn, her face pinching as tears poked her lids. her whole body felt tired as her shoulders hung limp beside her. for the second time that morning, she tried to open her eyes. everything, at first, seemed very blurry, her surroundings barely registering. however, as her gaze focused on a figure not too far away from her, she gasped.
"who are you?"
jack continued to hold his breath, unaware of the fact that she was talking to him. he had waited for the other person's response, only to listen stupidly as elsa repeated her question. her blue eyes were wide in surprise and shock. they seemed to be staring at him.
but that was impossible because no adults could actually see jack. they didn't believe in much anymore to actually have the ability. he finally got his jaw to work as he responded, "Me?"
the boy in front of her couldn't be that much older than her. he had hair that stuck up, its color reminding her of solid ice. his complexion was pale, so very pale, she could have mistaken him for a corpse had his breath not been misting in the air. his cargo pants and blue sweatshirt had bits of frost hanging off of it and his pale feet were right there.
"yeah, who else could I be talking to?"
"you mean," he started, pushing himself off the ground. "you can see me?"
elsa's lips pulled back, her lips stuttering, "y-yes, I-I could see you. I mean, why wouldn't I?"
he was still in disbelief as he asked again, "You could see me?"
again, elsa nodded, this time a bit more uncertainly.
jack couldn't help the cheer that left his lips as he thrusted his fist into the air. a triumphant grin stretched his lips as he instinctively pulled his knee up and he felt the ground disappear beneath him.
a gasp pulled him out of his brief celebration as he realized he was suspended in mid-air. with a bashful smile, he lowered himself and cautiously walked towards a still shocked elsa.
"I'm jack," he told her, extending a hand. "and I'm just like you."

elsa shuffled forward nervously, her hands twiddling with her fingers at the sight of the long, long drop. her eyes bulged as she scurried backwards, tripping and knocking a rock down. a squeal left her lips as it rolled off the cliff, imagining that it was her.
two hands, warm in comparison to the winter setting lay on her shoulders. she dug her head into one of those hands, pulling her lip into her mouth. "i-i can't do it, jack. it's- it's not safe."
she heard jack shuffle beside her before she felt his presence sit down to her right. his hands left her shoulders and she squeaked at the sudden tug. "relax, elsa," he chuckled, attempting to pull her hands off of her face. "i'm right here."
her bright blue eyes swung to him, grasping his image in despair. she scooted back some more as she felt another rock fall off. "oh god."
"it's just a rock, elsa. nothing wrong happened to it, and I doubt it would be hurt if something did," he pointed out, the corner of his lips quirking up a bit. as elsa vehemently shook her head, his lips curved into a smile. he ducked his head, murmuring, "how would you know you can't do it if you haven't even tried?"
