At the Academy, the classes changed daily in the cycle of "A Days" and "B days". These days consisted of four classes including their Strand time at the end of the day. Almost everybody hated A days because most of the core classes were on that day. On B days, the day was filled mostly with elective classes. In Megan's case, she preferred A days because she had ceramics in her Strand time. That was Megan's specialty, 3D art.

Today was a B day. Megan's first class of the day was Art Design. This was basically a joke of a class because there was a bunch of people who were not even in the Art Strand in this class. It was like an elementary school art class.

Megan was bored. She was sitting at her table with an emotional face, listening to Ms. Stone rant on about a bowl selling fundraiser for the local low-income centers. All the art students have been making bowls on the wheel for a while now, Megan was already kinda over it.

"Remember NAHS members, there will be a mandatory meeting today after school on the ceramics studio. We will have a pottery wheel workshop for the teachers so they can donate their bowls for the sale in a couple of weeks." Ms. Stone announced.

Megan wasn't a member of NAHS, but most of the time she tagged along because most of her clique was part of it. Freddy and Florencia, one of the other seniors, were co-presidents of NAHS.

"Also, some of the junior NAHS (or NJAHS) members will be coming with Ms. Miller as well. They are eager to learn how to make bowls out of clay." Ms. Stone added.

Megan's eyes lit up. She knew Noah was going to be there. This actually gave her something to look forward to. Her whole aura just lit up to happiness. For the rest of the period, she was producing small air dry clay bowls like a factory. They were all precisely painted in exotic colors, which matched the mood that she was in.

The bell rang for a second pariod and everybody exited the classroom and poured into the hallways. Megan was smiling and cheerfully walked in the hallway.

"Why are you so happy?" Freddy asked Megan, gently nudging her.

"What? I can't be happy?" Megan laughed, and playfully started punching Freddy in his arm.

"You finna be at the meeting today, aren't you?" Freddy told her, she already knew what he was talking about. She just smiled and waved goodbye. She was even happy to go to gym class next!

Lunch time finally came around and the halls were packed again. Freddy was walking alongside Megan, chit chatting about that day so far.

" Man, I fucking hate pre-calculus! I hope you're excited for that shit in about two years!" Freddy said jokingly. Megan was shaking her head no with a frown on her face. They continue to make jokes throughout the time they were in the lunch line. They laughed about edge-ups, ratchet people, and the bitch of the school and her peach fuzz covered head.

Megan finally got her food and went to sit down at her group's table. She had a close-knit group of friends. She could laugh with them and always have a good time. There was Stephanie, Yuliana, Claudia, of course Freddy, Angel, Evelyn, Byanka, Gabby, and Miguel.

Stephanie was taller than Megan, she had long, not too wavy and not to straight, black hair. She had gauges  in her ears and wore glasses. Stephanie was very interested in anime. She was in the art strand, so these Japanese style illustrations were her specialty. She was also a sophomore and for the most part, she was a quiet girl.

Yuliana was a junior who was in the art strand. She had shorter black hair in a style people would call so scene. She would occasionally change the color of the front part of her hair, varying from blue to pink to green! She wore a lot of band shirts and wrist accessories as well. She was also a very skilled artist. And she also wore glasses.

Claudia was a junior in the art strand. She had long black blondish hair. She was very funny. She always wore these hoodless sweaters of different designs. Claudia and Freddy were always arguing about something or trying to trip each other. She always had something funny to say.

Angel was a junior who was in the art strand. She had long black hair that was stylized either straightened or curled. Her eyebrows were always on point and she dressed very nicely. She always told the most quirkiest stories.

Evelyn was a junior in the art strand. She had long bright red hair. She was a skilled figure drawer. She loved the cutest stuff and rainbows. The group jokes around saying she's disturbed and that she is Satan.

Byanka was also a junior in the art strand. She was very slim and had long curly hair. She was shy for the most part. She was a very well rounded artist, but it seems as if lately she was slowly drifting away from the group.

Gabby was a junior in the dance strand. She was very good friends with Angel, so of course she dressed very well. Gabby was of African American decent. She was a beautiful dancer too. She was quiet, but had a very good sense of humor.

Then there was Miguel. He was the tallest of the group. He has short black hair, styled from the inspiration of anime, which he was very fond of as well. He was a sophomore and the art strand, Megan and Miguel were childhood friends. Megan knew Miguel ever since he was short and had a squeaky voice. Things have changed since then. They were very close friends.

These were Megan's friends. These were the closest people she had in this school. Other than Miguel, this was the first time she's gone to school with them. For a short period of time, it was amazing how quickly they had become good friends.

Megan was counting the seconds until it was strand time. She was really eager to express her happiness in Art today. So much that she didn't care what Ms. Rodriguez, her 2D art director, had to say.
