Reclined on his newly imported red leather chaise lounge, whisky in hand, Magnus Bane flicked through the many channels on his TV. He was bored. Despite promising a quiet date night in the loft Alec had scurried off hunting - again. The call of his parabatai seemed to rise above all, and despite being his lover, Alec never failed to drop Magnus for a night out with his blond 'brother'. Magnus knew he would never understand this bond, but no matter how strangely intimate it seemed Alec always assured him he was loved - and Magnus trusted him.

Alexander. The most beautiful man he had ever been intimate with, the most beautiful soul he had ever loved. Magnus often relived the day Alec crashed his own wedding, kissing Magnus on the aisle leaving his fiance at the altar. Though despite promising to live for himself Alec was still a desperate people pleaser. Manus knew him well enough to understand that he focused on other's needs, disregarding his own and doing all within his capability to please his family and the clave, any thought regarding himself was washed away, Alec claimed this changed when he met Magnus - however, Magnus wasn't blind, the man too often forgot about himself.

Broken from his thoughts by a brash banging at the door, his whisky glass fell from his hands, smashing on the carpet sending a splash of murky brown across the white fur rug. All immediate reactions of anger and annoyance vanished as soon as he took in the sight before him. The bloody mess before him seemed to make all time slow to a stop. This was a feeling Magnus was unfamiliar to, one he had read of many times in the books he borrowed from dear Tessa, but never believed in. As time came to a halt he inspected them whilst a great lump formed in his chest.

Clary, the first one his eyes were drawn to, her hair array and bright orange against the leather and black aesthetic. The bridge of her nose was cut and bruised, the graze carrying on and producing a nasty scrape down her left cheek. There was, compared to her comrades, minimal blood, but the wound was sore and red. The elbows of her gear were raw and revealed her bloody skin. Jace stood tall, puffy eyed as his jaw started to swell. Blood matted his blond hair disguising the many cuts, gashes and scrapes. Izzy seemed the worst off. Blood seeped through her clothes in an expanding puddle on red. Resting hard on one leg she clutched her stomach, whilst her free hand drew iratze on her arm. Yes still her wip restrained her brother.

Alexander. His sweet Alexander.

As quickly as they came the group of nefilim restrained him into a chair. Izzy and Jace tied Alec in place whilst Clary drew the pentagram - Magnus had still yet to move. All reality seemed to hit him in a wave, as his senses propelled back into his body, Magnus stood tall and magicked away the furniture, leaving room for his trapped boyfriend.

"What the hell happened?" Magnus' voice wasn't as strong as he'd imagined, nor an endearing; instead his voice fushed out cold and hard, draped in accusation. Alec lurched forward in his chair, emitting a growl from deep within his chest as he attempted to struggle free in vain. Jace took a step forward, "We were hunting, a groupe of shax demons, easy enough" Magnus scoffed, as proved by the sight before him it wasn't 'easy enough'. Jace continued, "but they had a leader, someone we had no clue about who bound them all together. We were fighting, fine, until this demon joined in." Jace gestured to Alec. Demon? Magnus was horrified, he had dealt with forced possession before and it never ended well. "I had my back turned, I was distracted, killing a shax when I should - I Should have been watching my own back." His voice cracked and tears welled in his eyes, but they didn't fall. Izzy stepped forward, placing a comforting hand upon his shoulder, Jace continued, "The demon, this demon. It was behind me and going to kill me. But Alec pushed me out of the way and before I- we knew it, he was possessed."
