Plot : you move to a new city Gotham and work as a bartender in some club.

Warnings : none

You had lived in the same house since as long as you remember. You grew up in the same neighborhood, same friends, same city. But as you got older you started realizing that you wanted change, you wanted adventure.
So for years you worked harder than you ever had to gather enough money for a place of your own. You worked in a library during your free time, and after a few years, you figured out you had enough money to rent a flat for a few months and to pay for college.
Your dream college was in Gotham, where you would study fashion, couture and business. You had sent your application letter at the beginning of the year and nearly cried when you received a positive response.
Of course the hard part was telling your parents that you were leaving.

A few tears, hugs, kisses and " yes mom I didn't forget anything "s, you jumped on the train ( not literally ).

Surprisingly, your place wasn't as bad as you expected. You had called a few weeks prior and the owner assured it was perfectly clean -which it was- but you weren't sure because of the lack of pictures on the website you had found it on.
The flat was already furnished, which was one the reasons you chose it, since you wouldn't have been able to afford buying new furniture. Now the hard part is finding a good paying job, you thought.

Okay (Y/N) don't worry, I mean being a bartender is nearly like being a librarian right? I help people, give them what they're asking for, you groaned, ugh who am I kidding, I'm probably gonna break more than a few glasses and I'll be fired before the end of the month.

Bartender in some strange club was the only job you had found that payed. So there you were, serving drinks to already drunk men, who payed too much attention to your cleavage for your liking. In your defense, they forced you to wear a uniform, so you didn't have a choice.
Although you were grateful for at least one thing : so far you hadn't broken anything.

" And who is this pretty little girl? " asked a voice from besides you.

You turned around only to be met by the most mesmerizing pair of blue eyes you had ever seen.
Judging by the way he was dressed and by the fact that nobody seemed to look him in the eye you guessed that he was somebody rich and probably quite dangerous. The tons of tattoos on his body, his smudged dark red lipstick and his metal teeth only confirmed your thoughts.

" I-I'm (Y/N), I'm the new bartender " you replied nervously.

" Oh don't be shy, I don't bite. Well I do in bed but... " he trailed off, chuckling darkly. " Tell me about yourself (Y/N ) "

You gulped, playing with your fingers " well I just moved here, and erm I work as a bartender so I can pay for college " you explained, not knowing what else to say.

He seemed to think for a moment before speaking again " I'll pay for it "

" W-what? "

" You heard me, I'll pay for you, what are you going to study? " he offered you a wide grin, you weren't sure if it was supposed to be reassuring or not but it only caused a shiver to go down your spine.

" Fashion, design and business, but I can't accept your money " you stated firmy, surprising yourself with your sudden confidence.

Classes had started a few weeks ago. The strange man -who you now knew was the Joker- hadn't left you a choice and paid for college anyway, although he still insisted you going to the club were you first met him. But not as a bartender no, as his date. At first you were a little bit hesitant, but since you didn't want to end with a bullet between the eyes because you had upset the Joker, you accepted. He'll probably grow tired of me in a month and forget about me, you believed.

But you were wrong, months passed and you were still in touch with him. You weren't acquaintances anymore, you were more like friends. Even though he casually flirted here and there.
He had grown fond of you and even if you were quite ashamed to admit it, it was mutual.

You two didn't only hang out at the club anymore, sometimes you went to his place * cough* mansion *cough *, sometimes he went to yours and sometimes he would just give you a ride, which was always something fun to do.

The wind was blowing through your hair. You smiled as you ran a hand through it, loving the adrenaline that was rushing through your veins because of the speed you were going.
Mr. J -as you liked to call him- had let you drive his car for the first time and you were thrilled. Especially knowing he wouldn't let anyone touch it, let alone drive it. He was in the car with you though, probably to make sure you didn't damage his car.
You took a sharp left turn, for a second you thought you were going to crash into the building in front of you because of the speed you were going at but, to your delight, you made it out alive without any scratch.
You pulled over right after, wanting to switch seats with the Joker, but before you sat on the passenger seat he grabbed your wrist gently, causing you to turn around.
He looked nervous, which wasn't even something rare, it was something you only saw once in a lifetime. Before you could ask him what was wrong he smashed his lips on yours, pressing you against the car, his arms going around your waist to keep you close.
You were shocked but returned the kiss eagerly, your hands going around his neck and in his hair, pulling at it lightly, which earned a groan from him. You saw your opportunity and soon your tongues were dancing with each other, exploring each other's mouth as you shares a kiss full of lust, passion and love.

" J you know I gotta go " you laughed.

" Two more minutes babygirl, please " he pouted.

You pecked his lips and replied " I'm already late love, I have a really important meeting in 10, I have to leave now "

He sighted but got dressed quickly, then dropped you off to your office.
You had finished your studies and had started your own company. Thanks to your fiancé's help ( a.k.a money ) you were already quite successful.
Everything was great, your parents approved of your soon-to-be husband, even though they weren't at first but then they realized that you two loved each other dearly and that he made you happy. He liked to show off how perfect you were, and he made sure everyone in Gotham knew you were his. He liked the fact that you weren't as crazy as him but that somehow you understood him better than anyone could, and you didn't see him as a monster, but as a beautiful human being who had given you his heart, just like you had given him yours.
