sloepaw huffed, lifting his head. snowkit squeaked and tumbled off his shoulders, tigerkit sitting back on his haunches and looking at his older brother.

"where's mother?" asked sloepaw.

snowkit scampered over to his littermate, and the little tabby replied this time.

"she's in the leaders' den, with father!" he squeaked.

sloepaw found this odd. whitewillow and lakestar hadn't been entirely... close since the gathering incident.
