lakestar twitched his ears, then cast his eyes to the black sky, watching the stars twinkle like fireflies that went too high.

"lakestar." the voice of heronstar sent a shiver down his spine.

"if nobody has more objections," the riverclan leader raised her voice, "then i will bring it upon myself to punish lakestar and windclan."

lakestar didn't have a moment to react. suddenly, she tackled the tom, pinning him to the branch. he gasped.

the gathering was immediately alight with panicked shrieks and caterwauls, felines jumping from their spots and running around, some trying to flee the island while others tried to climb the leaders' tree.

lakestar stared up at heronstar's snarling face, teeth bared and eyes narrowed, feeling the prick of her unsheathed claws against his cheeks.
