》let go.
lakestar drew a deep breath, then tore his paws away, shrieking as he plummeted toward the earth. he flailed his limbs, but couldn't spin around.
all he heard were cries of terror as his head slammed against something, hard.
darkness. darkness.
"lakestar."
darkness. darkness.
"lakestar."
darkness. darkness...
"lakestar!"
he awoke with a jolt.
lakestar panted, yellow eyes stretched wide as moons. he leapt to his paws and looked around wildly, mind reeling.
he was in a circle of willow trees, the grass soft and springy beneath his unsheathed claws, smelling of dew. a gentle breeze ruffled his fur.
"lakestar, calm down. you've lost your first life."
the tabby spun to see who'd spoken.
before him stood an elegant, sleek she-cat with a neatly-groomed pelt and glittering orange eyes. her fur was ginger, her back shaded with dark red and her muzzle a pale white.
"...cardinalstar?" lakestar murmured. she was the former leader of windclan. she'd been trampled by horses during an attack on the barn cats after they repeatedly stole prey.
she nodded, then stepped forward and pressed her nose to his forehead. "hurry back to the living world. you must help your clan."
in a flash of white, lakestar's eyes opened and he struggled to his paws, muscles stiff. his clanmates were huddled around him, lapping at his pelt and grinning as he rose again.
the windclan leader then found himself face-to-face with heronstar, her lips curled. the other clans seemed to have fled.
》insult her.
》attack her.
》go home.
