6: Where Are You

Alexis:

 I have officially hit rock bottom at this point. I didn’t leave my room at all this week.

 Wake up, eat, stare at the wall, eat again, stare at the wall some more and then sleep.

It took me awhile to convince the nurses to actually allow me to eat in my room.

 “How you doing sweetheart?” The nurse walked into check on me for the third time this hour.

 “I’m still doing fine.”

 “You’ve been staring at the wall every single time I’ve checked on you, are you sure you’re fine?”

 “Am I supposed to be happy when I’m in this place?”

 “While not happy, but maybe better than fine.”

 The truth was I wasn’t fine. I was horrible I just wouldn’t of mind dying at this point. Being in this fucked up place made me feel 10x worse. Everything was just getting worse by the second. I feel like I can’t breathe anymore. I just want this all to end, everything.

 “Earth to Alexis, you still there?” My thoughts flew away and I was brought back to earth.

 “Yeah, sorry. What were you saying?”

 “That boy has been looking for you.”

 That boy? Is she talking about Calum? She couldn’t be. He didn’t care about me at all. I was just another crazy person in the stupid hospital to him.

 “What boy?”

 “His name was Calum I believe”

 “How do you know this?”

 “He has had a confused look and has been walking around this entire hospital.”

 “He might be trying to get stuff off his mind, not looking for me.”

 The nurse got up and made her way towards the door to finally leave.

 “Sure.”

 Maybe Calum was looking for me. Even if he were why would he be looking for me? Alexis stop he wasn’t looking for you. You mean absolutely nothing to him. You’re just another nobody to him. He doesn’t care about you stop thinking about him.

I’ve actually haven’t stopped thinking since I’ve saw him. I’ve been staring at my wall just thinking of Calum. I think I’m going crazy…again.

 Calum:

 I think I’ve walked around this hospital 30 times.

 “Calum are you okay?”

 I turned around to find a nurse. She must of have been watching me walk around this entire place.

 “I’m fine, thanks.”

 “Are you looking for anything, anybody?”

 Does she think I’m looking for Alexis? Because I am. She hasn’t been at any of the activities or the meals. Maybe she’s avoiding me, but what could I have possibly done to make her avoid me?

 “Uh, no just walking around. Trying to get to know the place better I guess.”

 I gave her a slight smile and she threw one back then went back to her job. I shouldn’t be going this crazy about a girl I knew for about a two days, but after not seeing her for a straight week I couldn’t handle it. I needed to see her stupid bandage and her stupid cute smile and her stupid wavy hair and her stupid glowing brown eyes. I needed to see her. That’s all I wanted, and I wasn’t going to stop looking for her.

 Was going into her room too much? Probably.

 “It’s time to go to your room”

 It’s my 35th time around this whole hospital, I nodded at the nurse and obeyed her command.

 Where are you?
