Emilio's P.O.V.
It's finally time.
It's been too long just "talking", or whatever these teenagers say nowadays in America.
But in Spain it's different, we have to grow a pair of balls and ask a girl out when we like her.
And that is exactly what I plan to do.
I've talked with Ivan about it all already, we told her that Ivan wanted to film a video with her. But in reality, it was just a way to distract her and keep her away from her apartment.
Thankfully, she has finally gotten over the soreness from the crash, and is now able to move around more.
I walk into the local Smiths, immediately walking to the flower area.
As I push my cart around, I see a bunch of roses wrapped in a clear type of plastic. I see many different colors of roses, red, pink, yellow, white, you name it!
I remember her specifically saying she loved purple, specifically, Lilac flowers.
I grab a bouquet of purple ones, white ones, and 3 other bouquets of beautiful red roses.
I place them carefully in my cart, and continue strolling through the rest of the store.
I hadn't quite asked her to go on a date yet, but the point of the video that she is doing with Ivan, is a truth or dare game.
I will arrive perfectly on time, when he tells her that dare, and I will walk in and ask her.
Already thinking about the possibility of her saying yes, puts a huge grin on my face as I look down at the rose's.
I continue shopping, getting all the ingredients that Rose doesn't already have at her house; to make the special meal.
As I make push my cart to the cash register, I am met with an elderly lady; checking out all of my things.
"Hello young man, how is your day so far?" She asks, a small smile appearing on her lips as her shaky hands start to scan everything through.
"Pretty good so far, what about you ma'am?" I ask politely, making conversation with her as I pull out my credit card.
"It's good as well, thank you for asking. Now who is the special girl?" She bubbly asks, looking up from the scanned items to me.
"I'm asking this girl I really like on a date." I excitedly say, as I hand her my card.
"Wow, she must be one amazing girl huh?" She answers back, the smile never leaving her face as her shaky hands take my card and slides it through the machine.
"Yes, the most beautiful girl I have ever met." I say proudly, looking at her, and then down at the machine, putting in my pin.
"Well, you have a good day, and I hope everything goes good with this girl." She tells me sincerely as she hands me my receipt.
I thank her one last time, grabbing all my stuff and placing it in the cart; and pushing it out into the parking lot, the cold breeze meeting my skin.
As I reach my car, I place everything in the back seats, before making my way to the coffee shop.
••••
"Frick!" I yell as the hot liquid bubbles and stings at my hand, leaving a huge mark.
I sigh as I wipe off the Alfredo sauce, continuing to cook.
One of Flor's favorite foods is Alfredo Pasta. Thankfully, I have a special family recipe that my mother taught me when I was younger; ever since then I've been cooking it for years.
