First day of school I'm so nervous, oh I might throw up.

"Aria how much longer do I have to sleep on the couch for?" Carter asked sliding into the bed.

I've been making him sleep on the couch because I don't feel comfortable with him in the same bed. I was currently sitting at my vanity fixing my hair. It was currently six in the morning and school starts at seven.

"You know I have to be there early today." I said turning around so I could face him.

Carter seems to like the fact that I get uncomfortable when he's half naked around me, so he likes to not wear a shirt and sometimes not even pants.

"Yeah well, come here for a second." His arms outstretched to me.

I hesitated for a moment but than decided I guess it wouldn't be that bad. I got up and slid into his arms, my arms brushed against his and I felt the sparks that were hard to deny.

"You gotta promise me that you won't talk to any other men and you will stay by Kaylee's side." He stated starting to kiss my arm slowly coming up to my neck where my mark is.

"Carter not now." I muttered pushing him away from me.

I got up grabbing my back walking out of our room without saying another word to him. Once the door was shut I leaned against it letting out a sigh of relief.

I mean he's so sweet to me and everything but I can't take this anymore, he's always watching me and always looking over my shoulder. I needed to leave, like now. I needed to get as far away from this pack as soon as possible. I pushed off the door running down the stairs and out the front door. I booked it across the yard passing the high school that I was supposed to meet Kaylee at. I made it into the woods that bordered the high school and the pack house. I dropped my bag and ran a little faster.

After running for what felt like a few hours I stopped leaning against a tree trunk sliding down onto the ground. I need to just breathe, and probably should keep running so Carter doesn't catch up to me. If he even knows that I ran away yet.

I got up and started to walk instead of running, I walked a little farther into the woods to find a creek which I stopped to get some water. Once I was done I followed the creek up stream, maybe there is a road. But it didn't last very long till I got tired again and I had to stop for a little while longer.

I was sitting up against a tree watching the water when I heard it, the one terrifying noise that made my hairs on the back of my neck stand.

A growl

And I knew who was behind that growl, I slowly got up making sure to make as little noise as possible. I looked around seeing if I could see where he was, but the forest was to dense to see really anything. So my new plan that I so stupidly decided was a good idea. Climb the tree behind me, which one was stupid because I haven't climbed a tree in years and two I was like a sitting duck in that tree.

But me being me, I climbed the tree and sat on the second lowest branch. I was covered enough that if you weren't taking your time to look at the tree you wouldn't be able to see me. I could see everything below me which was good but scared me as well.

The source of the noise stopped right under my tree and he was sniffing around, I had never seen a werewolf before and I wish I hadn't looked down at Carter's wolf. Carter was tall compared to me but his wolf was at least as tall as me, he was also very stocky and was huge. He was bigger than any other dog or anything I have ever seen.

There were more wolves along with him, which led me to believe that this was a search party for me. I slowly brought my knees behind me so I was almost laying down on the branch, I need them to leave as soon as possible. But what made me even more scared was when I heard cracking noise's and they started to shift into humans.

"Carter this is useless she's probably in the next pack or town." James said, I couldn't see him but I knew it was him from his voice.

"No I know she's here I can smell her." Carter said pacing. He was right below me.

They were all naked which made me feel weird but I put that at the back of my mind, I couldn't worry about that now I needed an escape plan.

"Check the tree's." Carter stated.

AND FAST!

I looked around me to see if there was a quick escape but the only thing I could think of was climbing higher and jumping trees. Which would never work out with me since I could barely climb this tree without loosing my breathe. I was distracting and didn't realize Carter had seen me when I looked down to see where he was, staring right at me. I jumped and screamed almost falling out of the tree.

"Oh little mate." He said smirking at me. "Come down or i'll come up."

Well time to go with climbing higher, I pushed myself up and grabbed onto the next branch pulling myself up.

"Wrong move." He muttered grabbing onto the trunk hoisting himself up.

I was getting higher and higher by the minute. I grabbed onto the next branch and planted my feet down, looking down to see where Carter was. And he was to close for comfort, I decided to run and jump to the next tree. As I was running I prayed to the Moon Goddess I wouldn't die, I jumped off and landed almost safely onto the next branch. I steadied myself and went onto the next branch and the branch after that.

I was onto my seventh tree when I finally lost my footing and I scrambled to grab onto the branch but I couldn't. I felt myself fall faster and faster the ground get closer and closer. I screamed closing my eyes praying it would happen fast. But I never hit the ground I landed in someone's arms, of course it just so happened to be Carter's as I came to find out after opening my eyes.

"Well little mate I think it's time we go home." He said swinging us around and not letting me go.

I huffed knowing full well I would not be let out of his house now.
