Marooned

A Walk on the Beach

After breakfast, I decided to go for a walk on the beach. Brittany had seen that I had feelings for Daniel, so of course she asked Daniel to go find me on the beach and have a chat with me.

We walked together for a while. No one saying a word. Until Daniel said,

"Do you think we're ever going to make it out of here alive?"

"I hope so, I mean I don't exactly want to die from starvation on a marooned island," I replied back. We walked a little further, then I thought of Daniels Dad so I had to ask,

"How do you feel after what happened to your Dad, thats if you want to talk about it. I understand if it makes you feel sad."

He surprisingly answered, "No, its OK, I've been trying to forget about it, but its really hard. I wasn't that close to my father anyway. He was always working, so I never got to see him."

"What about your Mum?" I said.

He replied, "Oh, she died when I was young from lung cancer, unfortunately it was from smoking."

"I'm sorry to hear that," I said sadly.

He said, "Don't worry; it was a long time ago."

"If we do get off this island, where will you go?" I explained.

He answered back, "Probably to my nan and pop's they don't live that far away from where I live." We started walking back to the camping area.

Before we got there, Daniel stopped me, and said "I really enjoyed that walk on the beach, it made me feel better." Then he kissed me on the cheek.

My face lit up like it had never before. The bond between Daniel and I was getting bigger, and I knew he felt the same way!
