We paddled and paddled trying to find a bit of land. It was getting morning and we were all exhausted, especially Daniel. I felt so bad for him. I have never lost anyone in my family before.

I looked away trying not to cry, but then from the corner of my eye, I saw........LAND! I shouted out to everyone and we headed in the direction of the island.

We were paddling so fast, I couldn't believe it. When we got to the edge of the island, we headed the boats onto the sand. We didn't know what to do, so that's where I came in.

I said to everyone, "We need a group to go find resources and food. Go now."

I then shouted, "Everyone else follow me, we need to find a camping area for us to camp for the night. We need to stick together, we either die or survive. Are you with me?"

"YEAH," they all yelled out.

I replied, "Alright, lets go." While we were looking for a camping area, the rest of them headed out to look for food.

It took a while but there was this sandy area. It was a flat surface which was good to make a fire. The rest of them came back with branches, twigs and pinecones for the fire.

They found coconuts and berries for dinner. As we set up the fire, I went out with Brittany to find something for us to sleep on. I found Daniel on the way.

He was half way up a tree trying to get a mango. Obviously he had forgotten about his dad and moved on with the rest of his life. I could see that it was getting really dark.

When we got back to the camping-site, they had already made a fire. We all shared the coconuts and berries. Daniel and he rest of my friends sat next to me. We didn't talk that much.

I came up with the idea for all of us to hold hands and sing. For hope that we will find refuge. It was definitely going to be a very cold night
