The blue haired princess put down her lipstick and puckered her lips. She wore a smile on her face as she lifted herself up from a chair and headed towards the door.

"Where are you going all dressed up?" Mal exclaimed, her eyes focused on the mural she was painting.

"I'm just going to..." Evie paused. "To break some hearts."

"That's my girl." Mal smiled.

Evie went down the stairs and breathed in that wickedly cold Isle of the Lost air. She made her way through the dark alleyways until reaching a secret hideout. She pushed the tarp out of her way and quickly placed it back where it was.

There were a couple of pillows thrown on the floor and one lightbulb illuminating the dark, dusty room. She sat down on a chair and dusted off her dress. Her brown eyes were set intently on the tarp.

"Missin' me already, princess?" A familiar voice echoed through the room.

Evie spun around to meet a pair of blue eyes and a pair of lips crashing onto hers. She smiled, deepening the kiss with her favorite pirate.

"I didn't miss you." She stated, clearing her throat.

"Nah, of course ye' didn't. But I did." He took out an apple from his pocket and tossed it to her.

"Hm. Should I be worried?" Evie smirked.

"It's not poisoned. Trust me."

"Trust is a very heavy word to throw around here, Harry." She took a small bite from the apple, savoring the sweet and juicy taste.

She tossed the apple back to him, who proceeded to take a bite off of it as well.

"How's Uma?" Evie asked, setting her bag on the floor.

"She's fine. How's Mal?"

"Are you asking for yourself or for Uma?"

"I'm over her, princess. Mal is nothin' but an enemy now."

"Watch it. That's my best friend you're talking about." Evie nudged the pirate.

"Friend is a very heavy word to throw around here, princess." He smirked at her, which made her grin as well.

"Very funny. I suppose Uma has you tired, huh?" She sat down beside him, taking his hand and wrapping hers around it.

"It's nothin' a pirate can't handle."

"You know, my mother is always raving on and on about me having to find a prince and marry him. It worked for Snow White, she thinks it'll work for me. But I never thought I'd fall for a pirate."

"So this is love to you, huh?"

"Isn't it for you?"

Harry remained silent. He didn't know what love was exactly. Evie was taught all about it, it defined her childhood. But the pirate knew nothing besides his brief fling with Maleficent's daughter.

"Haven't had much experience to recognize it." He shrugged, lowering his gaze towards the floor.

"Don't pout. Mal doesn't know about us. She won't find out." A smile tugged at her lips. "I'm good at keeping secrets."

"You shouldn't have to keep secrets from your best friend." He exclaimed.

"I can and I will. You should be more worried about my mother. If she finds out about us, she'll have me cleaning the floors until I'm thirty."

"Enough about that." He stood up. "Ye' goin' to the gang fight tomorrow?"

"Princesses don't fight."

"But ye' do. I've seen ye'."

"That's the villain in me." She sighed. "I have to go. Mal made me make her new gloves. She said her old ones were broken up and bloody."

"How come ye've never done any fashion for me?"

"It's called designing and you've never asked."

"Well, I'm askin' now."

"What do you need, my fellow pirate?" She opened her bag and took out a pen and paper.

"For ye' to be on my crew."

She paused and looked up. She put the pen and paper down. "Harry, we've talked about this. I'm not switching gangs. I'm not betraying Mal."

"But think of all the fun we could have together! We could have our own ship, our own pirate crew. We could be so much more."

"The only thing that's stopping us from being so much more is you not accepting what we already are." Evie picked up her things and pushed the tarp.

"Princess!" Harry yelled, only for Evie to be already gone by the time he left the room.

hello new readers! my name is mike and im writing this like waaaaaaaaaay after i first published this chapter. like seriously, i posted this in 2017 and im writing this in 2020. Yup.

i wanted to warn you guys bc my writing initially wasn't that great? i mean like compared to my writing now it's kinda cringy but ig every writer goes through that when reading their old material

i just wanted to let y'all know that this book does get better and the chapters do get longer lol, I can't believe I wrote only like 700 words in this chapter, 2020 me could NEVER

so bear with me and push on bc the content gets better, not saying it isn't gonna be good in the beginning but y'all know what i mean

also, there's talk in this book about me not writing a second book, THAT WAS 2017 ME, I initially didn't want to write a sequel cause d3 hadn't come out yet so I didn't want to write a hypothetical sequel to this book bc i really wanted my stories to fit in with canon as much as possible and writing an AU wasn't it for me

and might i add, the sequel is pretty damn good if i do say so myself lol not to pat myself on the back but i will bc im proud of myself

all in all, pls enjoy the book and keep reading if you really like it cause you'll enjoy it later on even more!

lots of love, mike
