Chapter 19
Azalea's POV
The sound of the basement door opening made my ears perk up and the sound of a metal platter hitting the ground filled the room. The door was quickly closed and I walked over to see what they threw in here. It was a metal tray of food that looked terrifying. I'd rather starve then eat whatever the hell that shit is. I went back to my post on the wall and I examined my weapon. It may not kill someone right off the bat but it will knock them out.
I've been in here for two days and no one has come down to see me since Eric stopped by and I spit in his face. After that they've only thrown a tray of food down here at six every day, and the rest of the time I'm left to die of boredom. I try to keep my mind on happy things like Bullet, or Jason's eyes or Jason's smile. Yeah I think about Jason a lot since I've been down here. I found myself missing his smile, and his laugh, and the way he would hold me at night. I know I'm suppose to hate Jason for what he did to me but I couldn't.
The sound of guns filled my ears breaking me out of my thoughts and I jumped up. What the hell is going on out there? Has my prince charming arrived? I thought sarcastically. The basement door swung open and a young guy with brown hair rushed in. “Get up!” He barked and I didn't move. He went to jerk me up and I kicked him in the knee. I used my bar and I brought it down on his head, causing him to groan in pain. I rushed out of the basement and saw that the house was filled with dead bodies. All of them Eric's men.
“Where is she Eric?” I heard that familiar voice that made my heart skip a beat. It was Jason. He came to save me, he's here. I rushed outside and the ringing of a gun shot filled my ears. Jason stumbled to the ground and Eric let out a cruel laugh. I felt the familiar feeling of rage wash over me and I ran at Eric. He dropped the gun and I picked it up, pressing it to his forehead.
“Any last words?” I asked and he didn't say anything so I just shot. I dropped the gun and ran over to Jason, he wasn't deadly hurt but he did get shot. Zeke, Chaz, and Ryan came running up.
“What happened?” Chaz asked kneeling beside Jason who just sat there staring at me.
I looked back at Jason before saying, “Eric shot Jason in the leg. We need to get him stitched up before he loses anymore blood.”
“Help me bring him to the truck.” Chaz told Ryan and the both of them carried Jason to Chaz's black Chevy. They laid him down in the back seat and they handed me a first aid kit. Of course the female is the one that's suppose to know how to do this shit. I thought as I got out the things I needed.
“Jason take off your pants.” I said and he smirked at me.
“If you want me that bad kitten you could have just asked.” He teased and I rolled my eyes. I cleaned the blood around the wound before using the tweezers to remove the bullet that was barely lodged in his leg. I carefully stitched the wound and I handed him the extra pair of shorts Chaz kept in his truck. Jason sat up and pulled me towards him. He brushed a strand of hair out of my face before leaning in and gently placing his lips on mine. “I've missed you.” He whispered pressing his forehead to mine.
I ran my hands through his hair and said, “I've missed you more.” He chuckled and shook his head before kissing the tip of my nose.
“Can you two like not?” Zeke snapped and I glared at him before tearing myself away from Jason. We all road in Chaz's truck to Jason's house in silence, it was rather awkward. You could tell Zeke still wanted to rip Jason's head off and there was something bothering Jason. We finally got to the house and I got out the car. “Zales, can I talk to you out here for a minute?” Zeke asked holding my arm.
I looked at Jason for approval and he nodded before following the guys into the house. “What is it Zeke?” I snapped and a look of hurt washed over his face. I felt a pang of guilt and gave Zeke an apologetic smile. “I'm sorry.” I muttered.
“Are you okay? Living here with these people?” Zeke asked looking at the house before looking back at me.
I nodded and said, “I couldn't be happier Zeke. I've found somewhere I belong.”
“Okay, as long as you're happy. I'm still expecting to see you at the dinner table Sunday with everyone else.” He said hugging me and I hugged him back. “Bye kiddo, call if you need me.”
“Bye Zeke.” I said and watched as he walked back to his car. I walked into the house and Jason immediately hugged me.
