Chapter 6: The Meeting

Laura P.O.V

What is taking them so long? I have a meeting at Sony in an hour. “Ally! Can we please go now? I have to be somewhere in about an hour..” “Yeah just a second. Why do you look at your watch every 5 seconds?” I pulled her away from the others, so I could tell her. “I got signed.” “WHAT! SERIOUSLY? HOW? WHEN? WHERE?” “Als calm down, I got signed at Sony last week, it was gonna be a surprise for you, and I have to meet them, to talk about me going on tour this summer.” “That’s so awesome! Who are you going on tour with?” “Ohm…. One Direction”

Ally P.O.V

“WHAT!?!” I yelled at her face. I just couldn’t believe that my two best friends were going to leave me this summer. “Then I’m gonna be alone the whole summer?” “No, that is the part I forgot to tell you. Remember the song we wrote last month? ‘The Last Time (I’m Broken)’?” “Of course it’s the best song we have ever written, why?” “Well I kind of used our recording of it, and that is why WE got signed last Monday!” “Wait, WE? As in you and I?” I was seriously confused now. “Yup! You are now looking at the newest girl group at Sony music.” “OMG LAURA I LOVE YOU!” “I know Als, but we have a meeting with them in an hour so we gotta go!” “Okay just a second and don’t tell the boys!” I told her before turning around and yelled: “LOUIS! HARRY! ZAYN! LIAM! NIALL! CAR! NOW!” As I thought they ran out of the airport almost instantly. We dropped them of at Harry and Louis place along with all my stuff, before we ran out of the door, and drove off to the Sony Music Record Studio. When we arrived I was so nervous that I might actually have to throw up.

Laura P.O.V

Ally and I walked up to the front desk, and a young woman, about our age, maybe a few years older, looked at us, and asked: “Welcome to Sony Music, what can I do for you?”

“We have an appointment with Sidney Wiever,” I said, as Ally just looked scared. “Okay just follow me then.” We walked down a long hallway, until we were in front of a big white door with the letters ‘S.W’ in gold on it. “You can go in now.” The lady said. We walked in and a nice looking older woman was looking at us from her giant desk. Her office was decorated in blue and gold colors with a giant aquarium behind the desk that covered the whole wall. “Hello I’m Sidney Wiever. You must be Laura Kayleigh Marina Penelope Ruby Gomez and Allison Jeniea Isabella Hanon. It’s so nice to finally meet you. I’m gonna be your manager.” She said. “Hi I’m Laura, and this is Allison, but we call her Ally.” “Oh that is so cute. But to get to the reason I asked you to come down here today, is because before you sign the contract I wanna hear you sing live!” “Oh okay. Laura should we sing ‘The Last Time (I’m Broken)’?” “Yeah let’s do that” “You just start when you are ready.”

This will be the last time we ever spoken

The words you said are now stuck in my head

And I’m just figuring out why you said that

We both sang the first chorus before it was time for my solo part:

“My heart is broken

A million little pieces shattered on the floor

Each piece aching like never before

Little random memories

3 small words never to be spoken

And I’m broken.”

She just sat there and looked at us, with her mouth wide open. “You girls have more talent in your little finger, than the whole company has. You should be proud of yourself. Here is the contract. Sign here, and here, and then welcome to the world of music.”
