Everyone turned to look at me waiting for me to say something.
“whoever wishes to leave you may leave. You are not stuck her anymore. You are all free to go and do whatever you please.”
“We would like to stay. You are a natural born Alpha and we know you can do great things with this pack
“Well then since everyone is staying we are going to have a party tonight and welcome all the neighboring packs to join us. I know they think of us as the Dark Knight pack and as a cruel and evil pack and that’s why the first thing I’m going to do is change our name We are not the Whispering Shadow pack.
Everyone cheered so I took that as a good sign that they liked the new name of the pack and they were excited about meeting the other packs. Hopefully some of them would find thieir mates in the other packs. Everyone left and walked towards the house to get ready for the party. I guess I had to tell my parents and Lucas the news I found out the other day. I was just surprised that no one smelled it but I guess the pills I had been taking were working to help cover the scent.
“Mom and ad if you would like you can stay here as long as you want or you all can move in to one of the other houses we have.”
“we would love to live her and I really want the chance to catch up with you and you need to be with your siblings. Speaking of which we haven’t been able to introduce you to Amanda. She is the middle child of you four.”
“Hi Amanda! It’s nice to meet you and our other siblings.”
At first she was expressionless but then she ran over and hugged me tight as if I was going to disappear. She looked up at me and whispered in my ear.
“I know your secret. Congrats by the way.”
I was shocked at first. How could she know when no one else knew but then it hit me like a ton of bricks. She had gotten the ability to see the future like our grandma did.
“Well since Amanda knows the secret I guess that I will come out and tell you all and not later on.”
Everyone turned and looked at me wondering what I had been keeping from them . Lucas seemed more scared and fearful then anything.
I took a deep breath and relaxed for a moment and looked up at all of them.
“I’m pregnant everyone.”
My mom was so excited about the news not finding out if it was Lucas’s or Nathaniel’s before she ran over and hugged me. I looked over my shoulder at Lucas who looked so ticked off at the news.
“Addie I get that Nathaniel beat you and that but how could you kill your babies father? Why would you do something like that?”
My mom stepped back giving me some space and looked at my face. It must have dawned on her but I never slept with Nathaniel. The only person I ever slept with was Lucas. What I said next no one saw coming at all.
“Lucas I’m looking at my child’s father as we speak.”
“How is that even possible Addie?”
“Two words: THE LAKE.”
Lucas thought for a moment before a smile spread across his face and he came over and picked me up and swung me around.
“Oh my god! I can’t believe…How didn’t…. How did no one find out Addie?”
“I took scent masking pills so no one knew. I wanted to tell you when I found out but I had to keep it a secret until the right moment.”
“Addie we are going to be parents!”
I laughed at Lucas and kissed him on the lips. It felt so good to feel those sparks when you kiss someone and feel your knees get weak. This is what I have been missing my whole life.
“Lucas I’m glad you were destined to be my mate. You are my rock and I love you so much!”
Lucas stared at me wide eyed and a smile broke across his face. He grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes.
“Adelaide Michelle Azaria I have loved you since we were younger and I first laid eyes on you.”
“Lucas?”
We turned and looked at my dad wondering what he was going to say next to us.
“You take care of my baby girl Lucas. I have missed her so much and how she was treated was terrible. I know you were there and tried protecting her and I know there wasn’t much you could do. I love my baby girl and I want her to be happy so you keep her happy.”
“I will sir. I plan on making her happy and treating her right. I don’t plan on hurting her. I love her more than my life its self.”
“Well if everyone is talking we need to go get read! We have a party we have to get ready for and get the house set up and I got calls to make to the neighboring pack. I also have to tell the pack about the baby news.”
They all laughed at the very long sentence and shook their heads agreeing. We all started walking to the house. Lucas grabbed my hand and I smiled at him. Finally it felt like life was being put together like a puzzle and everything was going to work out and be okay.
We made it up to the house to see that it had been completely transformed into a ball room. I looked around at the pack members standing there smiling at me.
“Wow! This place looks great everyone. You all didn’t have to do this without me. I am your Alpha and I should be helping with everything.”
“Well we sort of wanted to have it done for when you showed up sort of as a thank you for setting us all free and to show you that we are glad you are our Alpha now. We also called the other surrounding packs and they all have agreed to come to the party. They will all be here around 8.”
I looked up at the clock and saw we had a little over 3 hours until they would start showing up to the house.
“Thank you everyone! That means a lot to me. You all can go do what you want until the party.”
Everyone bowed their heads and started leaving the room. I turned towards Lucas and smiled.
“Lucas will you show my mom and them to the third floor and let them have whatever rooms they want? I’m going to go take a shower and wash some of this blood off of me. I look terrible.”
“Addie you look beautiful to me and yes I’ll show them the third floor.”
My mom and dad hugged me and my siblings followed them up the stairs. I headed up the stairs to my own room to get into the shower.
