Here we are, at the end of yet another fanfic done by yours truly.
This idea had its drawbacks: Vera's actress got changed (she was originally going to be played by Evangeline Lilly) [I think Chloe Bennett is a much better fit anyway]
She got two ships instead of just one (originally she was gonna be just Sammy's until Ruby decided to be all, no, hey, gimme that angel)

Both ships sank, unfortunately. I knew Vera wasn't gonna make it from the time Ruby got her hooks into her. Damn you, Ruby. You made me believe in your ship!

I mean, it wasn't necessarily a love triangle. To me, I don't think Ruby loved either Sam or Vera enough for it to qualify.
I don't know, y'all: did you think Ruby really cared for Vera on some level?

I'm not even gonna question y'all on whether or not Sam loved Vera, cause he did (even though he didn't get to really tell her that...)

This idea took me FOREVER to get off the ground. I struggled a lot to get this rolling. Thank God things worked out as they did when I got into a flow.
Going along with the ships, there seems to be a war with my readers. Samvera or Veruby. Or there were the outliers who had other ships in mind. I heard DeanxVera and CasxVera.
I say a big fat no to CasxVera cause, guys, ANGELS ARE RELATED TO ONE ANOTHER. THAT SHIP TO ME QUALIFIES AS INCEST which I do not support.
But don't let my opinion sink your ship. You ship whoever you want to, regardless if you're the only one who likes it or not. I will not discourage you from that.
And before you go asking, Vera's story is closed for good. There's no sequel; an alternate ending is the closest thing that you'll get to a continuation of her story.
A reader brought up an interesting thought for me, though: Will Vera appear in any future Supernatural fics that I write?
Sorry to say it, loves, but no, Vera will not be referenced in any future works. I know I did it with You Found Me, Reckless, and the Rogue trilogy, but that was back when I was really ambitious and had the time to think up such things. I don't have as much luxury anymore.
I will say, though, that I had contemplated a Season 13 appearance by her with Jack the Nephilim being born (though she would have just gotten out of Purgatory, unaware of what's happened for the past 9 years...)
But, some things are better left untouched.
I'm happy with where Vera ended up, even if it wasn't the happily ever after everyone was betting on.
