Oh hey look at this.

Two updates within about 12 hours.

This is more work than I've done in my whole life.

I hope you enjoy this, I hope you have a lovely day, and remember someone loves you.

Although the past two school days seemed to draw themselves out to unbearable lengths I'm glad it was only two.

History schedule:

Second lesson Monday

First lesson Thursday

Last lesson Friday.

Dan will be at my house today, Friday.

Yesterday was Thursday.

BREATHE.

The bell rings for end of lunch and within seconds I make my way through the humanities block and into the history classroom. The students file in, Dan being one of the last, dawdling in just before second bell. He sits beside me like he has this past week, looking a little beaten down and worse for wear. It's almost as if he didn't notice me sitting there for the first 10 to 15 seconds but he blinks hard, once, then twice, almost as if getting something out of his eye, and then he turns to me. His smile has grown since I saw him last. Yesterday morning. When he lay cosily on my desk. His teeth show and he almost quakes with energy which is quickly supressed by Ms. Ferris dragging the class to a grinding halt.

It wasn't anything interesting, just her tendency to not care.

So back we went to picking pencils and taking notes in weird colours. Dan picked up the gold pencil from my rubber band stack and drew swirls on his own page today. He drew with flicks of the wrist, each stroke forming one part of a circle, the ending product looking almost like a sun but not quite. I watched as he drew. Every now and then he would look back up at me and the hurriedly go back to flicking his wrist as if there was something he desperately couldn't forget.

And then he grabs the black.

He draws curved lines in flued motions that take him about 4 goes to get right each time. My eraser covered in black by the end. And only then do I realise it's an eye. Mine. The blue and green missing and only the speckled gold floating around without an anchor to hold.

"That's surprisingly beautiful."

It comes out before I can even think about what I'm saying but he doesn't seem to notice the sly insult I accidentally threw at him.

He beams up at me and rips the piece of paper from his book, the noise so deafeningly loud the whole class, including the teacher, silences. Upon realising it was Dan she throws him a stern look and goes back to, once again, reading from her slide show. After avoiding the teachers gaze I look out of the corner of my eye to where Dan is, crouching over his bag with his back to me, black sweater riding up slightly on his back showing tiny sun spots and delicately tanned skin.
